Leaping Out of Reality

Is it possible? Is it her? No, no, maybe I am seeing things all over again. Damn, my screwed up mind. How can she be here? Well, can she be here? Did I ask her to be here? 

Arjun's eyes were glassy and bloodshot. The alcohol was just doing its job.

He was sitting on the terrace of the building where he had an apartment on the twelfth floor.

He looked up. The night sky could provide few stars to his view.

He let out a deep sigh. Maybe darkness had devoured the rest. 

He tried to stand up. His legs betrayed him. He tripped over the glass bottles.

The figure was standing still at some distance with her back towards the parapet. It was her. 

In the faint moonlight, Arjun realized she was staring at him. A cold, expressionless look. She looked heavenly. The distant city lights shimmered behind her, adding to her mystique. 

He smiled back at her. A kind of a smile that is provoked by relief and reassurance. A second chance.

"I won't let you go this time, Ayesha." He rushed towards her. 

We will again be reunited tonight, my love. We will shine together in the night sky. Darkness won't be able to devour us anymore.

This time no reality can stop us, separate us, because we will be living in the world of illusions.

Seconds later, as he plummeted towards the earth, he realized how strong the acceleration due to gravity was.
