Being a fisherman is not easy and my life wasn't any better . My father was a fisherman too and taught me all the skills required for the job and used to tell me that though i was born in a fisherman's family i had the potential to become a warrior , ofcourse i didn't believe him . When i told this to my friend Vika who is the commander of the army , he laughed and made fun of me . I forgot it with the passing time and tried to focus on my job rather than on nonsense .
It was just another normal day , with me preparing the nets for catching the fish , suddenly i heard someone's cry ''HELP ME !!!'' ,I looked for the source and saw someone drowning not much away from me. It was a girl , i have to save her i decided and jumped into the water and swam towards her. In no time i got hold of her and swam back to the shore . She was a very beautiful girl . She was unconcious but otherwise she was alright . I was going to call for help , when the royal guards came running towards me with the physician '' Princess!!!, are you all right ? '' .They thanked me for saving her and carried her away . The whole night i couldn't sleep as i couldn't believe that i saved the princess , her face came to my mind again and again .
Next day as i was taking rest in the shade after the day's work , i saw the princess coming towards me . '' Thank you for saving my life . may i know the name of my saviour ? '' she asked . ''My name is perseus, friends call me percy .'' i replied . ''Percy you can ask me for any favour .'' she said . '' Thanks but i just wanted to know your name . '' i replied .''My name is Annabeth '' said the princess with a smile . It was almost sunset and she said that it was getting late so she had to return to the palace or her father would worry.
After that we met many times and became friends . She told me that she did not have any friends and got bored in the palace but she was happy as she had me as her friend .
One day she invited me to the palace , i tried very hard to refuse but at last gave in as she wouldn't allow me to refuse . I was totally blown away when i saw the the palace . As she showed me the royal hall , bedroom and the other rooms i couldn't find words for expressing myself . It was almost noon and we were in the gardens , she was explaining me about different flowers but i wasn't paying much attention . She looked very pretty in her pink gown and i couldn't take my eyes of her . '' Those are lotus , see there in the pond . they are my favourate , they are very beautiful '' she said .''Not as beautiful as you '' i replied and she blushed . I wanted to propose her but when i thought about my self i was disspointed . '' I want to give you somethimg special .'' she said and gave me a box . It was long and heavy . '' Go on , open it '' she said . I was curious as i opened the box and was speechless when i saw what was inside . '' I hope you like it ? '' she said . It was a greek sword with my name etched on it and the sword was made of a metal called celestial bronze , i remembered Vika telling me about the metal , it was very rare and precious metal . ''Woah , do you really want to gift something this precious to me ? '' i asked . '' Yes of course . don't you like it ? '' she asked me . '' It's amazing , I love it , thank you '' i said . '' Actually there something that i wanted to tell you '' i said nervously . '' What do you want to tell me ? '' she asked ''I ... I .. love you '' i said gathering all my strength . she looked sad , '' i am sorry , if i hurt you '' i replied . '' Percy i love you too but my father wont allow our relationship . '' she said sadly . Suddenly the warning bells rang , it was a sign that our kingdom was under attack . Suddenly the sky became dark and a very big shadow appeared on the ground .'' What is it ? '' i asked Annabeth nervously .'' Its something large and its flying towards our direction '' she replied . '' is it a bird ? '' i asked her . I think she understood what it was because her face was drained of it's colour and became white with fear . '' Come on follow me '' she said and ran in the direction of the palace . '' Guards get ready , we are under attack . Bring me my bow and quever !!'' she ordered the guards . The guards also looked scared and ran off and followed her orders . ''percy be with me , come on to the tower '' Annabeth said to me witth concern in her eyes . ''What is it ? whose shadow was that ?'' i asked Annabeth ''look '' she said and pointed towards the sky as we reached the tower . I couldn't believe my eyes '' Impossible , i thought it was a myth . it 's a ...'' i stumbled '' a Krakonion dragon '' she said .'' It's attacking the village '' i said . '' Don't worry , our air defence is strong enough to take it out '' she said . '' air defence ? '' i asked puzzled , ''this '' she said and removed the covers from the huge structure that looked like a big cross bow . ''come on help me load it '' she said but it was too late the dragon was coming in our direction very fast . '' It's coming towards us '' i shouted . ''Archers hold the line, FIRE !!! reload and fire , buy us some time ''Annabeth shouted orders and tried to load up the air defence . The archers let lose a volley of arrows but it defelected of the dragon's scale armoured body . '' we have to escape , it's too close . we wont be able to load this thing in such a short time '' i said . '' you are right , everybody evacuate '' she ordered as we started going downstairs . ''To the bunker '' somebody shouted as a large number of people were running here and there , i could'nt keep up with her and got separated . I didn't know where to go and went with the soldiers , suddenly the atmosphere became hot . '' It's spewing fire '' somebody screamed . The palace's tower was crumbling down . I ran as fast as i could and got into one of the bunkers with the guards . For some hours the ony thing i heard was the screams of people . I didn't knew for how much time i was there . When i got out it was nightfall and the palace looked fully burnt and destroyed . It had lost all it's glories and was the reminder of a massacre . A meeting of different clans was held in the royal hall and at last everyone decided to send a group of warriors to hunt the dragon down . Annabeth stood with her father as he addressed the crowd '' people of my kingdom , i am extremly sad towards what happened today , the leaders of the clans and i have decided to send a group of highly qualified warriors to hunt the dragon .'' The crowd cheered and everyone hailed the king . He continued '' the expedition will start tomorrow and the members of the expedition are vika , william , optimion ,david and luke . The one who slays the beast will marry my daughter and will become the heir to my throne . '' I will also accompany them '' announced annabeth , her father tried his best to change her mind but failed . Early in the morning the warriors packed their supplies and weapons and set out for their journey . I was concerned about annabeth so i decided to follow them quietly . I packed my own supplies and took the sword that annabeth gifted me . The journey was very perilous as they had to cross many mountains till they reached the forest . Days passed and all i did was to follow the party . They didn't look happy about hte journey especially annabeth . one day i was sleeping on a tree when i heard whispers and footsteps below the tree i was resting on .A group of 10-15 small man like cretures were passing on toeards the camp . As i looked on they they attacked the camp and loot the supplies .'' Goblins !!!'' someone screamed . '' everyone wake up we are under attack!!'' But it was too late , the goblins had surrounded themmand began bindind them , '' i have to do something '' i decided and crept slowly and got beind the camp and launched myself at the goblins with my sword . '' come on '' i dared them and slashed at the nearest group of goblins . The warriors recovered and attacked the goblins and within no time the remaining goblins ran away and retreated . '' what are you doing here ?'' vika asked me with a confused look, Annabeth came running and hugged me , ''percy where were you ? '' . '' nearby '' i replied to her . '' don't ever leave me again '' annabeth said hugging me tighter '' i will never '' i replied . Next day we set out again for the dragon's den . '' look there '' luke said pointing towards an opening in a nearby hill . '' all of us cant go there '' said vika . ''optimion you go the nearby village and get help , annabeth you and luke stay here and wait for us while rest of us track the beast '' said david . As we entered the cave i was scared out of my wits , the cave got more broader and warmer as we advanced ahead . luke went ahead of me and vika while we were lookin around for the clues of the beast . Suddenly we heard a scream and the cave seamed to shake . A huge shadow appeared before us , it was the dragon . It saw me and spewed fire in my direction but vika dived and got out of the dragons range , but we landed on rocks and he got wounded . The dragon rushed towards the exit of the cave ,'' are you ok? '' i aksed vika. '' yes , but we cant let the dragon escape , go percy stop it '' he replied . The dragon plunged out from the mouth of the cave . i tried tomthink a way to stop but there was no time . If i climbed down i wouldn't get down in time and i wouldn't be able to save annabeth , i leaped out behind the dragon and landed on it's back and nearly fell down . I took out my sword and stabed the dragon . It tried to shake me off but annabeth shot arrows at the dragon and distracted it . The dragon was about to spew fire on annabeth when i climbed on towards its head and stabbed my sword just above its eyes . It screeched in pain and crashed on rocks and fell on ground , i leaped away from the beast to avoid getting squished under it . the dragon tried to get up but luke impaled his spear onto the dragon and killed it . '' will your father allow me to marry you now ? '' i asked annabeth , she noded with a smile and hugged me and i kissed her . luke helped me to get vika down from the cave , we looked for david but he was already dead . optimion reached with help and we began our journey back .when we reached back annabeth and i got married and i became the king . Luke and optimion were also rewarded for their bravery while vika became the general of the army . The first thing he did after becoming the general was to get a better air defence system .
now when i sit on the throne i remember what my father used to say '' you percy are a special child , although you are born in fisherman's family . you have the potential and qualities of a warrior .'' i used to laugh at him then but now i knew he was right because i am the KING OF OLYMPIA .
