Life Of An Egyptian

Revolution, this would be the first common word heard by Egyptians nowadays. Do we really know what kind of a revolution we need ? Briefly speaking Egypt had two revolutions in less than 3 years and I'm not writing this for the sake of discussing any political views or opinions, but for the sake of change.

It's so obvious how much middle aged people are willing to leave this country. Here are some few quotes heard in our everyday life, it doesn't matter anymore if you have an academic degree there are plenty of you, nobody cares, you want your children to walk on the street feeling safe, people don't respect time, you can't get the most basic needs for life, you can loose your dream job just because your internet quality is too bad for participating at a Skype interview, actually no one could sum up all the reasons because they are too many.

We agree on how hard life became in Egypt, everyone blames the country, the society, the system, other people, etc. But we never blame ourselves, and by here I mean our attitude, you blame it on the society while you are one of those people out there. To be fair enough I just can't say that this is the main problem, but it's a main factor. Change is never going to happen unless we imply it over ourselves and we just need to stop talking too much and let the change act. It might sound so ordinary and boring, but that's why we don't achieve any steps forward, as long as you are going to feel bored or useless when you talk about it, then how would it get better. Easy and simple, start by the smallest things on your own, which we always do and then quit, how many times you've seen people cleaning and painting streets after a great event and you felt happy not because how simple it may sound but actually because those people are at least trying but they never show up again. How many times you passed by a protest asking for a human right and you were convinced by their cause while you are actually violating this right later. How often you criticize people in different situations while you are actually doing the exact same thing but you never notice it. Change has never been an easy mission to accomplish, and by here I mean the revolution we need. Three years of continuous revolting and protesting, which we should be proud of later, at least as a first important step for a change, ended up by a change only in names and positions.

Revolutions have occurred through human history, their results include major changes in culture, economy, society and technology much more than political system. You could see around a lot of great ideas by middle aged Egyptians, a lot of successful projects by fresh graduates, and successful achievements in different majors but they just need your attention, and motivation forever, then just be sure they are going to make the change over time.

'Be the change that you wish to see in the world', Mahatma Gandhi said.
