A Lioness

She wakes up,  her eyes all shiny,
Her heart seems to glow like the sun,
Her lips smile of beauty; they curve upwards ever so gently,
But then they turn down; her eyes go numb,
As her fate dawns on her,
Just as Sun had on Earth,
But alas!  Neither was it nurturing nor warm,
It's claws held her lips down.

A tired sigh escapes,  the glow in her heart seems to dim away,
But just as it dims she holds it tight;
Just as a tear escapes those carved eyes,  she blinks and holds her breath,
For she believes,  letting that glow die is nothing less than her own death.

Swoosh!  The Tear's trace us wiped off,
Swoosh!  The breath starts flowing again,
Shaky at first but then it is calm,
And now the glow has turned into a flame.

She stretches her arms- arms strong enough to hold the world,
She shuffles her hair- hair long and firm,
In her gait is elegance,  in her mind magnificence,
She -  I must say,  is a Lioness.....
