The Love story.

Radha Krishna. Their love was eternal they say, they loved each other like no one in this world has ever loved anyone. They were made for each other they say, but the story that follows does not sound so pleasant. Radha and Krishna never stayed together, nor did they marry each other. Let us start this story from the moment every love story starts, 'They met'.

Although this one does not start with they met, it starts with 'she heard him play the sweetest tune she had ever been fortunate to hear'. The music that was coming out of Krishna's flute was so mesmerizing that Radha could not stop herself from falling in love with this flautist. Radha was married when she first heard him. Radha was elder than Krishna. She was the wife of a man who was a commoner in the village, and she never knew when she heard the flute what was she going to find at the source. He was the son of the head of the village, and he never knew who was being mesmerized at the far end. Thus, they meet. They fall in love beyond the boundaries of class, age, relations, and every other mundane thing that ever existed.

One fine day when his destiny calls for him and he has to leave the town for good, she cries a lot. Then she lets him go where is supposed to go. They do the right thing. They choose their roles and stick to it.

Radha from that day onwards will always think of Krishna every moment she till she lives. She will probably pray for him to come back. She will tell his mischiefs to everyone hundreds of times. She will live her entire life missing him. Hoping he would come back just one more time to see her and she could then die in peace. Krishna never came. She knew he would not.

The day he was about to leave the village, Krishna gave her his Bansuri to remember him by. This was his gesture to show her that he would never love anyone so deeply as he has loved her. She understood. Krishna never went back, although Vrindavan was not very far away from Mathura. He never went back because he had done a lot of things now. Now he was not the same flautist Radha once loved. Krishna was different now, he could rule a kingdom if he wanted to, he was the glorious king maker that history tells us, he led kings into battle and battles into kings. He was not the amateur that Radha once loved. He respected her love by not letting her know what has he become. He wanted that naïve image of him to be with her, he wanted to let her die in peace.

This story is not about how much they loved each other, the story is all about choices that define us. She choose to love him all her live by remembering her. He choose to let that love stay untouched by anyone in the world, not even him. They stood all their lives by each others sides, silently supporting each other. When everyone thought Radha Krishna had separated for good, those folks didn’t knew that the couple was actually united for real. Destiny never could tear the soul apart.
