As she looked towards her left, she saw him approaching her from the corner of the street. At the sight of him, she smiled. Blushed in fact. Her anger from the previous night was gone. She couldn’t recall a single word from the lecture she had mentally prepared and rehearsed, in an attempt to explain him where the two of them were wrong in their latest argument. But there she was, unable to control the hormones that danced at the sight of him. As he neared her in a casual fashion, she couldn’t help but divert herself in the other direction. She felt the butterflies in her stomach, reminding her of the first time she saw him. It’s been eleven years. They have successfully walked on the uneven paths from being strangers to lovers without losing their friendship in the process. She turned back towards him. He motioned her to join him. She nodded in denial and called him towards the bus stop where she was now seated for fifteen minutes waiting for him. As he stepped in front of her, she grabbed his collar, made him to lean into her and let their lips brush against each other before people around them began noticing it. And then she said, repeat after me. “I am sorry for scolding you last night.” The voice that followed said, “I am sorry but I will scold you every time you need it.” She made a grumpy face but held his hand as he invited her for a walk to the destination of their lunch date.
