The Monk's Prayer

Swallowed by the silence of mountains, there was a monk praying and blessing the Earth. Unique, awesome, lonely... Just exile. Then, all of a sudden, a young man appeared climbing the peaks of rock around them. When he reached the monk, still gasping, said: "Please, listen my story". The wise man agreed and invited him to take sit. The man talked him about changing people's mind, about how he desired to write a great book and a big tale, about how to make people happier. But he hadn't achieved his goals yet. The man felt desperate. He had dreamed a world of peace for so long, and now that he was an adult and had been working on it there was no difference at all. "What should I do?" He asked. But the monk put his hand on the ground and said: "Come. Sit beside me and pray for the Earth while I sing a song". The young man obeyed, confused though. Then he put his hands together, but the monk knew he was going to put attention to what he was about to do. After a little smile, the first sounds evacuated his mouth, and then the words started to form.

Bless the fountain of life,

Exquisite waters of wisdom.

Youth in your mouth and words should always be.

Only that way the world can change.

Use the power of your mind.

Rise the feelings of love in your heart.

See the waves of thinking flow,

Even if you don't believe so.

Larger life becomes when change comes from the inside.

Fights and heroes... not necessary at all.

That afternoon the monk shone on blue, and then he went forever. The man he left behind had learned the lesson, and now his last teaching would be spread, lighting the paths of many, and there was no need of a great writer, neither a great story.
