My Flight from the Plight

It was darkness all around. The trees were swaying their branches. Suddenly, all the birds and animals started howling.. There was rustling of the leaves, the small insects with their tini-mini limbs rushed towards their dwellings and where was I?? 

I was stranded.... All alone in that once jam-packed street of Lanka, near the BHU roundabout with my brand new Cherry Red Activa . All of a sudden there was restlessness and a hustle bustle everywhere. The shops started pulling down their shutters. The rickshaw pullers were driving like a crazy. The Auto Rickshaw pullers didn't follow the traffic rules and just sped away. Oh gosh! What was wrong???? Have all gone nuts, gone crazy??? I just then heard someone talking about some strange virus hovering around the city. Soon, people started gathering around him. All the passerbys too added to that crowd. The hawkers were given instructions too. I was told by the traffic police to reach home at the earliest. Still that question on Virus was glued in my mind.
Came home and my 15 year old daughter told me to wait at the door and not enter the house till she brings 'Sanitizer'. On asking her, I got my answer to that  Question on that Special Virus..

Oh gosh! that Unknown Guest who entered in our worlds just brought mayhem and nothing else. It was named as Covid 19 which was no less than a Tornado whirlpool. It was chaos, grief and loss everywhere. Since I dreaded that to knock at my door, so abided by rules laid down by the Government.  

After around 10 months, life started to normalise with baby steps. Still that Unwelcomed Guest is lurking around waiting to pounce on someone with its tentacles. Anyway, we all are accustomed to the fact that life is like a stage and we are mere actors who need to play their roles and just walk away. 

Still shivers run down in my spine when I think about that 'day' when my heart went out on a flight but rushed back after a plight.
