My imaginary girlfriend Part-29

I was home early, that day. Arvi was at school and Shanti was perhaps in her room. I tiptoed upstairs to our bedroom to surprise her. I loved that silly game and her horrified face, the way she was mad at me everytime I did that and scared the crap out of her. She was there in her lounging chair, facing the other side, didn’t notice me as she was busy writing down something in her diary. The diary, which I was never allowed to look at. She was so maniac about it when I touched it one day when I didn’t even finish the first line and she snatched it right away. Her terror stricken face didn’t pass unnoticed.

She was absolutely submerged when I smoothly wrapped my hands around her and kissed her neck. In an instant she closed it and threw it on the table.

Her: Neel you must stop doing that.

Me: Hey , I wanted to surprise you.

Her: But I don’t like it, you know that.

Me: Alright. Be mad at me. Spoil this afternoon, like you always do. You know what, its me who tries to mend things up and look at it through a different angle everytime, wheareas you need to be a kid about every silly thing.

Her:Babu, I am sorry.

Though her apology was a very rare case, but I was too mad then.

Me: I better go and stay in college. Atleast people talk to me there.

Extremely frustrated, I stormed out of the room, when I heard her fall down. I went back and found her unconscious on the floor. By that time, Shanti entered , to see what the fuss was all about.. She sprinkled some water on her face, until she gradually regained her senses.

Me: Are you alright?

Her: Yeah, I am fine. I have been a bit sick since morning, even vomited twice. Maybe because of the fish we ate last night.

Me: Why didn’t you inform that you were sick? This doesn’t sound good, we should immediately consult a doctor.

Shanti: Didi, I think dadababu is right. You better see a doctor and check it out.

“Check what?” I asked, but she shied away which was strange to me because I was such a dumbhead. When the doctor arrived and broke the good news I was quiet taken aback refusing to believe the sudden, but the greatest happiness I was bestowed with. I could count the drops from her dilated pupils. It was the best thing that happened ever since we got together, a bit sudden as none of us were prepared from before. When the doctor left, she jumped and hugged me in a child like manner with tears smearing her entire face.

Me: I am so happy, I cant explain. I told you , we would get through this the future is smiling at us.

Her: I know, and I am really excited.
