A confession
Next day in college I met Harish who was rather surprised to see that I wanted to meet him.
Harish: What happened man? You remember something?
Me: No, actually I need your help.
Harish: My help? Okay tell me, I'll see if I can.
Me: Look, I know we were not in good terms previously, but I guess thats past. So tell me what happened that day, you talked about something yesterday.
He looked a bit frightened and worried, not ready to speak up at all.
Me: Hey, its okay. I dont mind if it was offensive, but its important for me to know.
Harish: I'm sorry man. We all had been making fun of you since the first day of college. I understand how it feels to get bullied by your classmates but I had no idea that this could get so serious. On the first day of our trip, I intentionally took you to that jungle saying that we were playing some silly game. You lost your way and that was what we wanted, it was fun for us. I am horrible man. But you finally made it back to the camp by evening. The next day you packed up and left. We thought you left home, but then one week later we got a call from your parents saying that they were not able to contact you for two days. When we revealed it to them, they got worried and came here, meanwhile we informed the local police. The whole confusion went about for one more week until they rescued you from the spot of some accident.
He took a brief pause understanding that whatever he was saying was a bit hard for me to take.
I know you went on this trip seeking an opportunity to spend time with us and we made a mockery out of that, I am sorry Rick. He almost started weeping.
Me: Its okay. Just that I dont remember anything so theres really no point for sorry or anything.
Harish: Man , you have changed a lot. I dont know what is it about you, but something has changed, you're not the Rick we used to know.
Me: I dont know, maybe.
