My imaginary girlfriend(Part-28)

One morning I got up from bed and found a letter from her. She was nowhere in the room. My hands trembled as I picked the paper and unfolded it.

"Neel, I know you are disappointed presently with the way I act. You are right. I owe you a justification because you are everything I have now. Its very stupid of me to write this letter but sometimes words look better in a paper. I love you and want to trust you but am afraid of what is to happen after that, but if you want , I will tell you everything- knowing that no matter what comes up you would always be there by me. We would never walk alone".

I didnt notice when she entered the room. She was silently watching me, as I read her letter. I walked upto her, and kissed.

"Meghna".

"I am sorry Neel".

Emotions exchanged them in tears.

"Its okay".

"No its not. I should have told you everything."

I held her close , trying to defy all the evil spirits that had been holding her so long. I kissed her her thousand times and muted her lips everytime she said sorry. The criss cross of heart beats, I felt them once again.

"I will tell you everything. I trust you".

"You dont have to sweet heart. I dont wanna know".

"But its important".

"I dont care baby, if you feel its gonna change our lives forever, then let it remain as it is I trust you, and believe me even if you said it nothing would have changed."

"I love you Neel."

"I love you too."

So long she tried to hold it by herself, but she was weak, tormented, miserable and I wanted to help her out. I preferred to keep it closed even though I was curious. Maybe, at some point I too was afraid and closing it was the best I could think of. We kept being happy, ignoring the devil who stood right by the door.

Stories, that we had heard since childhood of ghosts and monsters, the sister and her seven cursed brothers - at that point anything they said was true for us. We never questioned or tried to implement logic, all we could do was lose ourselves in an imaginary world of flying pony and the mystery castle. The same thing happened to me when I first found Neel's notebook. I never had any idea how it was gonna change my life forever. It was not just Neel and Meghna, the founder had a role too, to complete this story. While it kept freaking me out, why me? Why trick me into something which was never mine. questioning was pointless, the room was empty. She wasnt there, not even in my hallucination and the worst part was , I couldnt even remember her face. She was gradually fading from my memory and all I was left with was a half dome story which I had to complete.
