Narcotic

“Did you know that humans were created to find something they don’t know until they found out what it is?” Moon asked me.

He never fail to make me wonder. Ponder through out things.

“Is this what you’re looking for, hun?” I scolded myself inside my head for asking because we knew...

“What we had was beautiful and erotic and honest. It's madly exquisite, but I know you felt it too… this is not what we're looking for.” And my Moon held my hand, releasing all the butterflies I collected from all the days I fooled myself to sleep.

There, he looked me in the eye. With all the light in his iris. Unlike the first time I had this gaze – it used to be empty and tired.

We chose to spend the night erasing all the promises, swishing off memories and stargazing – praying to the stars to never fulfill our wishes.

He was the night and I was the morning; we were almost coexisting. We were once together. During the sunrise; for a very short time we felt human. It was too short to recognize each other’s features.

Moon kissed me goodbye – dropped me off stardust in a pool of loneliness and waiting and after that night – the sky never stopped crying.
