A New Chance Of Life

All I can feel is the cold and solid tar. My eyes are getting the ability of see again and my ears are catching a sound. It seems like the voice of a woman.

"Are you okay?" Don't move, the ambulance is on its way."

"What happened? Where am I? Who are you?" My mind is crowed with questions.

"My name is Jody Mills. I'm the sheriff and you're in Sioux Falls. Just stand still alright? "

I feel my consciousness fainting way and my eyes are forced to close.

When I open them again, there are two men staring at me. One of them is tall, very tall and he's wearing a black suit. The other one is looks like a magazine model and he's also wearing a suit. A dark blue one. I can't tell why but I feel like I've known them for a long time. I look up, to the left upside corner of my bed and there's a nurse taking numbers of a machine screen.

"Welcome back" she says with a big shiny smile on her face "you're in Sioux Falls General Hospital. I don't know if you remember but you had an accident. Nothing very serious, just a few broken ribs and a concussion. You'll be fine. I'll be back in a bit with the doctor to check on you okay? Meanwhile, you have here two agents who want to talk to you."

My eyes follow her out of the room and then found the two bodies placed in the corner of the room.

"Hi. My name is Dean McGuilloid. I'm an agent for FBI, and this is my partner, special agent Sam Jacksonville. We would like to make you some questions if you don't mind."

My consent is given by a head wave.

"When you were taken by the ambulance, after you were hit by the car, it wasn't found any ID. Could you tell us your name please?" Says the tall one.I..

"I... I don't... I can't remember..." the panic takes over my voice when I realise that I don't have any idea of who I am. The voice of agent McGuilloid interrupts my thoughts.

"It's okay Miss. Doc informed us that is very likely you to be experiencing an amnesia episode. But do you remember anything from the accident? Or before it? Like how you got there?

"Honestly agent? I don't have a clue how I got there. Last thing I remember is looking to my right side, seeing the car's front and lights out. Woke up on the floor and then here. I hope you don't mind if I ask but doesn't the FBI have more interesting cases?"

"We only pick the peculiar ones."

"A trampling is a peculiar case?"

"Ma'am, it wasn't just a trampling..." a tip of surprise could be noticed on his voice.

"What do you mean?"

They look at each other.

"Could someone please tell me what happened?"

"The driver and several eyewitnesses claim that you appeared from a huge ball of pure-white light. They say it grew, exploded and all of the sudden you materialized."

The room stayed in absolute silence for a few time, wich was interrupted by the doctor and the nurse. A little card that contained cell numbers and an address is given to me by one of the agents and they leave. Two weeks later I'm back home. Home. Crazy thing to call to a hotel room, I know, but it's the only idea of it that I have.

One morning, when I'm coming back to the hotel, after my daily run there's this car, a 67 Chevy Impala, parked at the hotel's front door. As I look closer at it, I'm hit by a strong headhake. It's so painful that makes me lose my balance and fall on my knees l. Flashpacks invade my brain. My memory is coming back and in a few seconds, years of life are now flowing in my head. A woman that was passing by helps me to get on my feet again and agent Jacksonville and McGuilloid run to meet me.

''Are you okay? What happened?''

''I...I know you!'' Looking at their faces I feel recognition and nostalgia. '' What the hell are you doing here?''

''It's nice to see you too lady'' I've missed your sacasm Dean ''let's get you sitted okay? We got it from here thanks.'' says him to the lady. There's a park bench near by that we headed to.

''Easy now...''

''I'm fine. It was just a dizziness. You still didn't told me the motive of your visit.''

''We decided to stop by to see if there was any update on your... mental status. Plus we already have the tests results.''

''I still don't remeber anything.'' My voice stammered unintentionally. Crap. Have they noticed? '' The tests...''

''Were inconclusive... again... Sorry.''

''So basically what you're sayind is that I still don't exist in the world...''

''If you put it on those terms.... yeah...''

''Awesome.''

Sam's phone rings.

''Bobby. What do you got?'' Bobby. Uncle Booby. Gosh, I've missed him.

''Anything else agent? I've got an appointment with doctor Young.'' I really hate to lie to Dean, but I don't another choice.

''No, that would be all. You sure you'll be okay?''

''Yes.''

''Alright. We'll be in touch.''

''See ya.''

''Bye.''

I need a bath and perhaps only the confort of my home will bring me some answers. Why? Why did he did it? Why am I here? I don't get it. No matter how many efforts I make, my riddles seem to have no solution. I need to produce a plan. But I need to do it very discreetly and with a lot of caution. I can't take the risk of them to discover. I have to exercise control in all things. It's my secret and I need to protect it at all cost.

After some time I'm able to engender a plan and decid to make a visit to the brothers. As I knock at the door Dean answers it.

''Hi! You can put the gun down Winchester. It's just me. Can I come in?''

''How did you...?'' he says almost speechless.

''How did I knew that you were pointing a gun at me behind the door? Easy. That's what I always do.''

''Who are you?'' asks Sam.

''My name is Destiny Langslow. I'm a hunter just like you two. Will you invite me in or what?''

With a hand gesture Dean gives me permition to let me in.

''You remember how you got there?''

''An angel teleported me.''

''From where?''

''Illinois.''

''For kicks? I don't know... one minute I was having my breakfast at Lou Mitchell's, and in another I was on the street in Sioux Falls.''

''Do you mind if we do the regular tests? Just to be sure.''

''Suit yourself.''

After a huge amount of unnecessary tests like salt, holy water, silver, I think they bitted the bait.

''Angels don't just teleport people for fun. There must be a reason...'' yeah Sam, I know that.

''I don't know man... It's not like there is an angel manual out there...''

''Well there isn't. But there is someone who can help us.''

Sam gets up and he walks out of the room. I can't see him but I can hear him. He's praying. Crap. Castiel. I got to go now before he shows up. I'll blow my cover and I cannot let that happen. Not after all this work.

''Well I have to hit the road. I have a date! I'll leave you my number...'' as I say it I grab a pen from the table next to us where papers, books and a computer are disorganizedly disposed, I take his hand in a quick move, not giving him time to react and writte down my cell number ''call me when you have any new alright? See ya''

I leave in a eye blink. What a relif. Cass free. For now.
