I stay awake
at night
for everything
I see in the daytime
reminds me of you.
The sunrise,
which makes me
remember how beautiful
we used to start
our days every day was,
and the sunset
which makes me realize
that at the end of the day,
you had me,
I had you.
The birds
who used to sing
how joyful our hearts once were,
and the flowers
that bloomed only
for you and me.
The children
who dreamt
of being like us,
the old people
who wished they had what we had.
The things
in the daytime
are different from
how they used to be.
All the laughthers,
and the smiling faces,
and the joyful hearts.
Now,
they are nothing
but pain,
and discomfort,
and torment,
and agony.
You are gone,
and I am left
with nothing but
your memories.
I guess it's best to be nocturnal,
and sacrifice my daytime.
Because everything I see
in the day
reminds me
of how I feared
this day to come.
