Not only just Mom!!

She isn’t only just mom

But a lot more

She is not only an epitome of love

She is a shield who’d keep you safe from even the deadliest storm.

When your days are blue and you don’t feel at all you

She would blend all the colours of the rainbow

To fill your life with such a marvellous hue.

When she is down and feels not so good with things around

You’d probably have not a single clue.

Your favourite lunch would still be ready

Your nicest dress would still be washed for the party.

And just when you’re wondering she is not only an angel from heaven, you’d realize.

She is the most wonderful creation of Mother Nature we couldn’t just do without.

She doesn’t cry, she doesn’t complain

She works at home, she works outside as well

She never throws a tantrum when she is tired of being a mom and a woman.

The stranger takes her as a creature so fragile and weak

Who would break apart with roughness slightly touching the wind.

Her nature is tender yet her heart is stern

She deceives the world with her tears of emotion

But when the time comes, the power of her will stands so strong

That the battle is half won just with her determination.

As a little child you’d look up to her

In your sadness as well as on the days of great joy.

You knew she’d be there to take care

To fix things after you leave them broken behind.

With the years passing at a pace so fast

The wheels have turned before you could realize

Your biggest strength has now become your greatest weakness

Time has turned you into the shelter your mother can rest in.

One day in one of your solitary hours

You’d sit quiet and let time take you back

You see how beautiful your mother has grown

With every strand of her hair turning grey from gold .

She might have dark circles under her eyes

Yet they fail to hide the knowledge and wisdom that sparkles so bright.

Her skin might me wrinkled and her hands might be weak

But they can’t hold back the beauty of her soul that knows only to give.

She gives love she radiates faith to every creature that crosses her path

With an amazing grace and kindness that age has gifted her.

Age might also steal away some of her precious patience

Losing her temper and repeating the same words again and again.

Would you still remember your childhood days at all those times

When you fell a hundred times and she never let go of your hand

Unless you learned to stand on your own feet and started to walk towards your destination.

In that windy road whenever you felt unsure

You got lost amidst the toughness of the world

You’d look behind to find her face full of warmth and trust

She held your hand tight every time the fear of losing crept inside your mind.

You could never quit because she would never let you

She believed in you and you knew you could.

The word mother can be summed up to just one fact

She is the creator and protector of your life.

Then why do you go to temples to worship an idol in the name of God?

When she is sitting at home waiting for your time and care.

She has been your mother your guide as well as your friend

She has put you into the shape you take so much pride in.

To the world she might just be a woman

To her beloved sons and daughters she is much more than only just the mom!!
