Last night, I dreamed of a dream.
It was a dream inside a dream.
I could see a streetlight, distinctly, on an empty road
Standing solitary in the fog
And under the streetlight, there were we
Sitting quietly, faces lit up with glee.
Long breaths, fixed eyes, swarming thoughts
Too many times, I have felt them all.
But in this dream, I felt you
Making my shy emotions brew.
Stars, sky, fragrant wind and the white ball
Too many times, I have loved them all.
But in this dream, I loved you
Wishing the reality could get a cue.
Cuddling and giggling and phone calls
Too many times, I have seen them all.
But in this dream, I loved you inside a dream
For the reality seems too unreal upto the brim.
Kisses and hugs and dances in the ball
Too many times, I have heard of them all.
But in this dream, I loved you in silence
For the words were too shy to witness the romance.
Last night, I dreamed of a dream.
And it was a dream inside a dream.
Do you look at trees, plants, sky and sentient beings other than humans? Like really look at them?
80This poetry talks about how I am consciously building myself into someone I want to be.
