Part A: Switching from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online
• Firstly, you need to know the fact that you must shift your data to QB Online within 60 days of creating your QB Online account.
• Now, you must launch the QB Desktop and strike the ‘F2’ key on your keyboard so that the ‘Product Information Window’ shows up on your screen, and then you should check for the version of your QB application.

• Now, you just have to choose the ‘All’ option provided under the ‘Dates’ button, and then you have to select the ‘Save as PDF’ option situated in the ‘Print’ tab.
• Once you have named the Sales Tax Liability file, you can save it in PDF form to your desired location. This is being done to make sure that you can quickly type the adjustment entries after shifting to QB Online.
• Thereafter, you should log into (admin mode) the company file that you want to shift, and then you are required to click on the ‘Export Company File to QuickBooks Online’ option provided under the ‘Company’ tab.
• Hit the ‘Start your export’ button, and then you should swiftly log into QB Online Company in admin mode, and thereafter, you can strike the ‘Choose Online company’ tab.
• In the same window, you need to tap the ‘Continue’ button, and you can hit the ‘Yes’ option and also choose the ‘as of date’ button to shift your inventory details to QB Online.
• Finally, you can type ‘Agree’, and then you are required to click the ‘Replace’ button to switch over to QB Online.

Part B: Switching from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop
• The foremost task is to download the QB Desktop on your system, and then you need to choose the ‘Close Company’ option under the ‘File’ menu,and you should ensure that the QB Desktop remains open for the rest of the steps.
• Next, you must quickly log into your QB Online account, and then you should go to the 'QuickBooks Data Migration Tool’ link on Intuit website, and thereafter, you can hit the ‘Get Started’ button in the ‘Export Overview’ window.
• By hitting the ‘Download Tool’, you can download the QB Data Migration tool, and then you need to go to the ‘Prepare to export’ window in QB Online.
• Immediately click the ‘Continue’ button to choose the data that you want to export, and then you must type the name and email address to receive the migration confirmation mail.
• Navigate back to the ‘Prepare to export’ window and choose the same option that you previously selected, and then hit the ‘Continue to Download’ button provided on the ‘Exporting from QuickBooks Online’ page.
• Immediately strike the ‘Download QBXML File’ button to download this file on your Windows Desktop, and then launch the QB Data Migration Tool.
• You need to browse the path to the QBXML file that you have downloaded through the migration tool app, and then you can hit the ‘Import’ button to shift data to your QB Desktop.
• Once the data has been fully imported, you can hit the ‘Done’ button displayed on the confirmation message on your screen.
