Rock Paper Scissor

Rock Paper Scissor
Rock Paper Scissor
Paper..
Chose a girl in a game of two
A girl so young and pure
An angel as others were sure
Shouted "Paper" loud and sweet

Cause she loved to read
She played with rocks and feared the scissor
the sharp fool
would make her bleed
She read of Queens and
she read of Kings
she read of warriors, healers, lovers
She read stories of places whose existence you wouldn't believe
She read of people one day she was going to be.

Rock Paper Scissor
Rock Paper Scissor
Paper..

Played the girl
Same as before only older
an adolescent,you could say so
"Paper" again

To make paper boats
Not rocks she knew they hurt nor scissors boring fool didn't cross her mind or so
Paper boats to travel off
to far off places with a warrior from her stories she thought
Daydreams and wishful thinking
present was not the place she was in.

Rock Paper Scissor
Rock Paper Scissor
Paper..

All the same but not the same you can say
It was a woman who chose
and "Paper" she chose again

With swollen eyes she rose
her shoulders stooped
stepped on crumpled paper
imbibing the tears she owned
Not rocks they her scarred body when thrown nor scissors as she held hers to create some of her own
Not to turn cadaver
but to liberate the pain inflicted by scars
Where her scissors were not on  trial

Rock Paper Scissor
Rock Paper Scissor
Paper..

"Paper" she chose
There she was again with the sun on her face
Barely you could see her scars
as ink stains decorated her palm now

Not rocks they hurt less as she wore paper armour nor scissors she left them in
her drawer
Paper Paper all this time
It was not a choice she realized
In a battle where she was on her own
It was her warrior in disguise.
