Serene Divine , Serene Divine.
I am not a poet, I cant rhyme.
I tried to impress her all the time,
But failed to fetch her single smile.
Serene divine, Serene Divine.
I kept reading in between the lines,
Lines as long as 8 miles.
Didn't learn poetry though,
But these corny jokes of mine.
Serene Divine, Serene Divine.
Why I am not a poet ? Why I cant rhyme ?
Then I realized. You got to give it all.
But I was too consumed by life.
Serene Divine, Serene Divine.
One day, she smiled.
And I was gladdened for a while,
It was her wedding.
Dressed in beauty,
Oh ! Bangles that chimed.
Serene Divine, Serene Divine
I have moved on and now I can write and rhyme.
Wondering if she was all mine.
But now I neither write nor rhyme,
Lost in reality, living a routine called 'life'

{We all have had a crush in our schooldays . Remember the first time you actually tried to impress someone by playing sweet small gimmicks . Be it singing, acting funny, purposely asking for a pen or pencil ,writing a letter or anything. That one amazing person you might remember for a lifetime. Here's a small poem I wrote about a young man who writes this poem while he misses his school time crush. He recalls how he tried to impress her by his poems but failed to impress her . As a kid he was shy, confused and lacked a bit of confidence. totally unaware of how amazing he himself was. May be this was the reason he couldn't have her by his side. I hope you enjoyed the juxtapositions.}
