Settling Down...!

A Khaas Bath & Lots More Presentation:

Settling Down...

"Rishi, why don't you settle down for heaven's sake?",    Sakshi screamed in what seemed like their last meeting. "What do you want me to do Sakshi? Tell me.", Rishi asked. "Dad feels you are taking a big risk getting into this offbeat career choice of yours from your lucrative job.", she said. "I understand the concerns of any father before giving his daughter in hand to a guy for marriage. Tell me what do you feel. That's what really really matters to me.", he said rather in a tone which can soothe her.

"Every girl looks for some security Rishi and I am no different. I don't wanna sound very cool and a supportive girlfriend when I myself can't take your decision. Is it not scaring you one bit? You know you can fall, you can fail, you can be a topic for people to make fun of, you need to make so many sacrifices. After all why do we all live? We know our time is limited. What are you trying to prove people by being different? Life is short. We need to make the most of it and I am sure your career choice will not allow you to take it that way. I am really not sure where will this lead you to. I don't want you to take this risk.", she spoke out all her apprehensions.

He just stood there looking at her. He broke the silence saying, "Okay let's see it this way. I really really understand your concerns. I am sure a lot of people 'just talk' and when it comes to action, they just give up. Do you think your Rishi belongs to that category? Do you feel when I make such a decision, I lack conviction? Can't you see how my eyes twinkle just talking about this plan of mine? Can't you imagine how happy I would come back home from my job if I start doing what I love?"

"Why can't you accept things as it is? Why do you wanna break stereotypes and try something as risky as this? Do you realize that there won't be a fixed salary that gets credited into your bank account every month end in your plan? I am sure dad is mad at me for this decision of mine.", Sakshi said. Rishi was offended now. "I am sure if I had dated your dad instead of you, he would have understood me much better than you do. It's our life, Sakshi. If you don't believe me, I am not sure how will you be my leaning shoulder when I really need one.", he said.

"Fine then. It's better to end this here than taking it any forward and hurt each other even more. I am really sorry but your idea doesn't make any sense to me. You must know that there can be a day where you feel you have lost 'Me' who was supposedly the best one you could have got. You knew people called us 'The best couple'.", she said breaking everything between them.

"Unless you find yourself, you can never find the other one Sakshi. And yeah I am not here to prove if this path leads to me to success or failure. All I care about is this journey. Thank you. Good luck for your future."

4 years later :

Nothing dramatically changed that Rishi became a talk of the town. But a few things had certainly changed for him. He now started his day really motivated and came back home fulfilled. He now had stopped listening to people outside and started listening to his inner one. He now was sharing his life with someone who believed he is special and he will make a mark one day. He had started living one day at a time completely aware of his purpose and that made all the difference 🙂
