She Knew

She knew the truth was on its way, she knew what it would be, she knew how it would come out, she knew what the results would be and she knew she wanted to vanish...

Months have gone past, her days started with sorry, and nights ended with shouts. She would sit up straight every time the phone rang and would dig her face into her once white pillow by the end on the call. She could see the threads loosening but she had no strength to hold the loose threads together.

And then she heard the final 'snap' sound, not from him but from a well wisher. He was lost in someone elses arms. The last tear ran down her pink cheek. She heard the news and kept it herself like a secret. Not even her pillow understood why it was being cleaned. Her messy room was happy to see the marble floors again. Her phone kept buzzing and she kept answering it. The mornings were cooler as were the nights. She would listen to every word but would register none.

She knew the truth was on its way, she knew what it would be, she knew how it would come out, she knew what the results would be and she knew she wanted to hear it from him...

She returned to hometown, and planned a meet up atlast. Promises of making up hung in the air. Sitting face to face she knew the time was right. A look in the eye, a smirk on her lips she asked who he was seeing. His guilty eyes looked away. 'Snap' her fingers painted red on his cheek and her high heels made its echoing sound as she walked away down the silently crowded restaurant.

She knew the truth was on its way, she knew what it would be, she knew how it would come out, she knew what the results would be, she knew she had to take her side this time and she knew she would survive...

With love,
