"What do you love about her?"
"Everything." he said while looking up at the stars.
"Then you actually don't know."
He quickly looked at me.
"What? I just told you that I love everything about her." he said with a slightly irritated tone.
"That's just a substitute for saying 'I do not know'."
"Well, it ain't final, you know. I'm still trying things out. Maybe along the way I'll know what I love about her or maybe i won't."
"Really? You start a relationship with that kind of mindset?"
Steam came out of his mouth as he breathed out the cold winter air.
"Yes." he laughed. "It's a matter of chance, you know. That's why when I see a chance, I take it. That presence of a chance is hmm... How do I say it? Enticing maybe is the proper term for it."
"That's just stupid."
"Maybe I am actually stupid. Who knows?" he chuckled as he turn around and go back inside the cabin.
I stayed and listened to the mating calls of the nearby birds. Their love is simple. They look for love and when there's a chance, they either fight for it and win, or lose and look for something again.
Maybe I am the stupid one to linger in the presence of a chance.
