Solitude

He's confused. He's scared. He's scared of people, scared of meeting them, terrified by the thought of meeting them accidentally on the side of the road, afraid of greeting an old friend with whom he used to talk all day. He's scared, but has no idea why. Slowly, his emotions are receding. Belief in relationships is vanishing. There's not much pain, just some scars left from old friendships and relationships that itch sometimes. Oh those bittersweet memories. He's afraid to open up again, because of the wounds he received. Someone rightly said, animals are more loyal than humans. He's going through hell surely, but somewhere inside there's a reassuring voice, calmly telling him to keep going through this hell. As the great Dante said, the path to heaven leads through hell. All he hopes is there is a heaven on the other side. Or a more bearable hell. Who knows.
