Son Heung-min "I'm 31 years old...I learned how to be human from the director"

After scoring his seventh goal of the season to lead Tottenham Hotspur to victory, Son Heung-min, 31, praised manager Enze Postecoglou.

"I'm learning a lot from him," he said after the 2022-23 English Premier League match against Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on Thursday (June 24).

"The way he speaks is really special," Son said when asked by TalkSPORT how Postecoglou has influenced Tottenham.

"But as a (non-coach) person, it's unbelievable. It's not just the football aspect that Postecoglou is helping the players with," he said, "He's 31 years old. He's not that young compared to other players. But I'm still learning a lot from him, about being a human being. About being a human being, which is very important in life."

Postecoglou, who named Son Heung-min as captain before the season, added: "When I put him in that position (frontline striker), he works really hard and puts the team first. His first thought is what is best for the team," he added.

Earlier in the day, Tottenham beat Fulham 2-0 thanks to Son Heung-min's 36th-minute opener and James Maddison's ninth-minute strike in the second half to take their tally to 23 points and leapfrog Manchester City (21) at the top of the table.

Postecoglou broke the record for most points in his first nine games in charge, surpassing the 22 set by Gus Hiddink when he arrived as Chelsea's firebrand in 2009.
