SPROUT WINGS

Break yourself out of the rings,

Flutter greatly your wings.

In a state we stay, unwillingly still,

Where the expectations have locked us in,

We stare and stare at the latched door,

We stand tired after being asked more.

The norm, we shout our lungs out, to slay,

At this juncture all that I would say,

Break yourself out of the rings,

Flutter greatly your wings.

Inability to achieve what we crave for,

Heart cries for that one last go,

To travel beyond that door,

To reach out to your own world,

For the frustrated mind, in peace, to lay,

For your wishes, all that I would say,

Break yourself out of the rings,

Flutter greatly your wings.

Bleed the punctured hearts in pain,

Competing everything, nothing did we gain,

Stabbed to death all our dreams,

Attending to others’ needs, now we weep,

Happiness rooted in riches they say,

But for your sake, I would say,

Break yourself out of the rings,

Flutter greatly your wings.

Blocked in the bubble of shattered haze,

Pushing hard the elastic wall to break,

Mourning eyes hold them clear,

All dreams summoned over the years,

To shine through the hope’s narrow ray,

For the everlasting pleasure, I would say,

Break yourself out of the rings,

Flutter greatly your wings.
