Still

Everything is still the way it used to be from the day you left until the day you decide to come back.

You can still find your key under the mat, the lights at the front door are always on, and Neville is camping at his cute doghouse.

Your cup of coffee is still waiting for you at the patio every morning. Mine has gone cold because I cannot drink without you.

There is always an apple in the fridge in case you are running late for work. You know I don't like you - skipping breakfast, right?

There are still two towels, shower gels, and shampoos in the bathroom though I use yours sometimes whenever I miss your scent.

You can still find your toothbrush beside mine. I don't want my toothbrush to be alone too like her owner.

I still set two plates on the dining table and cook our favorite garlic butter shrimp in case you come home starving.

The hammock still swings every Sunday afternoon. It feels a lot bigger without you here by my side.

The Script is still singing our favorite songs on the speaker. I play them louder this time so you would hear I'm calling for you.

The seven Harry Potter books are still in the reading nook. I'm usually here waiting for your hands to explore every page of me.

I still watch The Amazing Spiderman during our movie nights but I don't cry because of Gwen anymore. My tears are here because I miss my superhero - you.

I still open a can of San Mig Light every Friday night even if you are not here sipping a bottle of Heineken. But there are nights when I need vodka to drown the image of you - walking away.

The scented candle in our room still smells mint but the white sheets still smell like you. I still sleep on the right side of the bed, hoping you'll be on the left when I wake up.

I still love you and I will be waiting for the day you come home to me.
