My Neighbor the Killer

BLACK SCREEN.

THERE IS THE SOUND OF A CAR DOOR OPENING AND SOME LOUD NOISES.

FADE IN:

MAXWELL sighs and gets out of bed and looks out the window. A man is struggling to put a large bag in his car. The man putting the body in the car looks around then looks directly up at the man in the window. Startled, the man closes the blinds. Breathing heavily, Maxwell picks up the phone but then shakes his head and puts it back down. He goes around the house and watches the man through a different window. The car is gone. The man falls asleep on the couch after locking all of the windows and doors.

FADE OUT.

PRESENT MOVIE TITLE. CREEPY SINISTER OR INSIDIOUS MUSIC.

FADE IN:

Maxwell is staring out of a window, waiting for something. Waiting to see his mysterious neighbor. Suddenly, the killer exits his house, taking his car keys out of his pocket. Maxwell eagerly watches him get into his car. After he gets into his car, the killer looks out of the rearview mirror and sees the man watching him through the window. Maxwell ducks down out of sight and the killer drives off.

FADE OUT.

FADE IN: SUNSET

Maxwell walks into his house, talking on the phone. He goes into kitchen and sets his keys in the kitchen.

MAXWELL

(pacing, obviously stressed out) No,

you don’t understan- NO. Seriously,

something is not right about him. (he listens to

the person on the other end)

Fine, don’t believe me. But if I’m gone

tomorrow, it is all your fault.

He hangs up the phone and slouches onto the couch. Suddenly the doorbell rings. He goes to answer the door. It’s the killer. Maxwell tries to keep his cool, but his heart is beating really fast. He knows that the killer saw him watching him.

NEIGHBOR

Hey there, neighbor! Thought

I’d finally introduce myself. My

name is Steven.

MAXWELL

(nervous) Uh..h-hello there, Steven!

It’s great to meat you!

(awkward silence, they are both smiling)

MAXWELL

So, uh.. Is there anything... I

can help you with?

NEIGHBOR

Yes, actually. I was wondering

if you had any sugar. My wife

told me to stop by. Do you mind if I

come inside?

MAXWELL

(he sees that he does in fact

have a wedding ring)Oh.. sure.

Sure, yeah.

NEIGHBOR

(is acting overly friendly in

a Dexter sort of way) So, do

you live alone? It’s a, uh..

pretty big house. Thought you

might have a girlfriend or something

like that.

MAXWELL

Oh, no. I uh (hesitates) Actually,

yes. I have a roommate that is

staying with me. (is obviously lying)

He is not here currently, unfortunately.

Maxwell shows him where the sugar cabinet is. His phone begins to ring.

MAXWELL

Oh, excuse me.

NEIGHBOR

Oh no, that’s alright. I’ll just..

grab the sugar.

As Maxwell is on the phone, the killer quickly grabs his keys that are on the kitchen table and slides them into his pocket.

MAXWELL

Hey! Did you find it?

NEIGHBOR

(is startled)

oh, yeah. Sorry, I got distracted.

(he grabs the sugar from the cabinet.)

The man walks the killer to the door, finally becoming less nervous.

NEIGHBOR

(he takes a look around the house)

Well, thank you very much. My wife

will appreciate it.

MAXWELL

(is about to close the door)

Oh, yeah. Anytime. Tell her

I said hello!

NEIGHBOR

(stops the door)

Hey, I don’t think I caught

your name. What was it again?

MAXWELL

Oh. My name. It’s, uh. It’s

Maxwell.

The neighbor smiles and leaves. Maxwell closes the door and locks it. Anxiously, Maxwell sits upright in bed, timelapsing, until he finally falls asleep.

FADE OUT.

FADE IN: NIGHT.

The man is still sleeping in his bed, his mouth wide open and breathing loudly. The front door opens slowly. The killer walks into the house, a blank, expressionless but killer-like face. He goes around the house, looking around. He heads towards the stairs and walks up them slowly, creating eeriness. The music is slowly getting eerier. He enters the bedroom where the man is sleeping and stands beside his bed, grabbing one of the pillows. He watches the man for a few seconds then begins suffocating the man. Close up on the man’s phone that is next to his bed. The message on his phone says “You need to get out of your house.”

Shot of the man standing above the stairs, it’s dark but the light is perfectly creepy. INSIDIOUS MUSIC.

FADE OUT.

FADE IN: STREET. NIGHT STILL.

There is the sound of the car door opening and some other miscellaneous sounds. A lady looks out of her window and sees a man putting a body into his car (the killer) He suddenly looks right up at her. Zoom in on killer’s intense face. SOME KIND OF SCARY INTENSE MUSIC.
