Stranger

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and feel like you're seeing a complete stranger?

You look at the sunken eyes that has lost it's sheen to sparkle anymore and wonder where along the way you lost that.

You look at your lips and think about how they used to spread wide apart gleaming all those teeth behind it's veil and you wonder when you lost that.

You move your hands and place it over your heart to feel it beating. There you wonder. How can it work, ever so normally, after all the damage it has endured!

And all of a sudden, you find yourself surrounded by multitudes of people chattering about. But nothing piques you anymore. Short conversations bore you and you shun away. You run into solitary like it's a drug you have addiction problems with.

And again, all of a sudden, you find yourself wide awake at 3 in the morning, staring at the ceiling. The staccato rhythm of the whirling fan adds nothing to the feeling of discomfort you feel within.

You keep wondering.
Why do I feel so lonely?
Why do I have to go through this?
Why am I feeling so out of place?

You feel disconnected. Not with the world, but yourself. That's when it dawns on you. You lost it all the day you lost hope. You lost it all when you didn't care about anyone anymore. You lost it all because you have kept yourself alone because you think that is the damn thing you deserve.

You lose yourself, when you stop loving your self.
Remember, the stranger you see in the mirror deserves love, too. More than anyone else.
