The Tall Bold House

There it stood looming over me like a giant, waiting to devourer anyone who stands before it. The house. The tall, bold house. Its broken windows glared at me viciously. The walls covered by an army of dead vegetation, foul by look and smell. Darkness covered the old ancient building like a cloak, covering every corner and edge of it. The cold wind rushed against my face, making my eyes water. I sensed a sudden movement around me. I turned behind and scanned the area to make sure no one was there. My heart started beating fast, like it was about to jump and escape from this madness. But, deep inside I knew that there was no turning back now. I took a deep breath in and stepped forward fighting the fear inside of me like a brave soldier ready for battle. However, fate had other things in store for me. Suddenly I heard a blood crawling shriek that sucked all my courage.

Who or What was that? I asked myself.

What should I do?

Where should I go?

All these questions rushed to my mind, polluting it. I wanted to run away from this world of mayhem and forget about this terror house. However, little did I know that I had more coming at me. Unexpectedly, the large wooden door in front of me creaked open loudly crashing the flower pot which stood beside it. My heart started to beat fast. Blood started rushing through my veins at an up normal speed. I opened my eyes widely trying to see through the darkness that covered the house, straining my eyes and keeping it open like an owl. Shaking nervously I moved closer towards the open door, stepping on broken glass pieces on my way.

All of a sudden I sensed a fast inhuman movement behind me.

What is it?

What was it?

Who?

What?

My imagination started to take control of me.

“Stop…s-stop” I told myself quietly.

Sweat started to run down from my forehead. The whole world around me started to go crazy. I looked around the room. My view very vivid, not clear at all. I blinked my eyes quickly trying to see, trying to figure out what was going on. Entering a room to my right unwillingly and unconsciously. Cobwebs surrounded me, trapping me like ropes which imprisoned their victims. Looking around the tiny room, I saw horrifying pictures hanging from the wall. Inhuman figures stared at me, looking deep and through me. Shaking the cobwebs away I took a step back and looked around again. Examining everything that existed within the room. I looked up to see an ancient old clock hanging up the front wall. Looking down at me. Its hands frozen in time. Staying still for eternity. Never to move again….

Lowering myself I picked up one of the books that laid around me like bones of a skeleton. The surface of the book felt harsh and rough like concrete walls. I flicked through the book, its pages covered with the darkest colour with no text.

Black

Pitch Black

The pages of the book hanging on to the core of the book as if it was its life force. I navigated myself from the room holding on to the book, quickly and quietly trying not to awake anything that remained in the house. The tall bold house. Turning around to my left I saw a long saw a long stairway going down. Down to the depths of hell where pain and agony awaited me. Curiosity took control over me leading down the staircase.

I gazed down into….

Darkness

Total Darkness

THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!
