That Saturday Afternoon

Info

Your eyes, I remember them
They caught my attention
In a way I never experienced before
Or maybe did.
They were dubious,
filled with an emotion I was unable to read
rather, able to feel.
What was that precise feeling?
Only your brain could articulate.

But that peculiar want was speaking of vice
A language I was acquainted earlier in life.
You brushed your finger
Against my skin
Your touch was uncomfortable.
Why?
Only your brain could articulate.

You told me everything I wanted to hear
And so much more,
I needed to hear those words
But not from you, never from you.
You confessed your love,
Told me I reciprocated the feelings,
And you already knew.
How?
Only your brain could articulate.

I saw a trickle of emotion,
Resting on your lower lash
It spoke more than your sure words
Did it go according to your plan?
Only your brain could articulate.

You held my palms,
In your trembling hands
You read me a poem
And made it mine
Did you not know,
This was not the norm.
Or did you?
Only your brain could articulate.

You said I’m special
That I’m above the equals
You said you’ll become my cushion
And help me reach the potential.
So much for a stranger
Whom you only met twice.
WHY?
Only your brain could articulate.

Plethora of questions surged in my head
My equilibrium was shaken
A man like yours put me in a position
Nobody introduced me before.
Your world was made of words
Words that ruffled my wings for a while
But the time had come to become rational
The time to say goodbye
You asked my permission
For a kiss on my forehead
And i said Aye.

You brushed those curls off my face
Your lips quivered but your intentions didn't
What was going on in your head all this while?
Only your brain could articulate.
Only your brain could articulate...
