The Boy Who Named Everything

He named his people
And he named his art;
He named what he could handle
But he never named her heart

She was all he ever wanted
But all he could name was tears;
For he couldn't possibly name
Something that was never his

And so the boy who named everything
Named all of the memories
For the only thing he owned
Was the joy of shared years

Feeling lost he parted
The realization from the dream
That owning everything is pointless
If her heart wasn't for him
