The butterfly Girl

Just the other day when I was taking my little ones for a tour to a nearby park, I was overjoyed to see the fresh blossomed September flowers. The little canaries, sparrows, cuckoos and not to forget the crows, all were busy in sharing, building and doing their other chores. The fresh flowers were swaying their heads in the tune of the wind. The blazing sun was playing hide and seek with the tall trees.

I instructed my group to spread their mats and take out their picnic baskets which they brought so fondly full of eatables and toys.

Suddenly, out of 39 one was missing. Although, I was transported in the world of beauty just few minutes back but the lull created by those 38 was no less than a storm.

A little arm consistently kept harping the same tune saying, "Ma'am, Purvi is not in the group. She's missing, ma'am. Please do something...". For a moment I was lost,  unable to react to the situation". But Rohan's pulling of my arms brought me back to the reality. Oh Gosh!!!! Purvi was actually missing. I looked for her everywhere but she was nowhere seen.

I divided my 38 into groups and we all got scattered to find Purvi. We all went helter and skelter looking for Purvi. Alas! she was nowhere seen.

Far off in the woods, Amy, Purvi's friend could see someone running after something. She started chasing her and soon found out that it was none but her best friend Purvi running after the colourful butterflies. Unlike her teacher, she scolded her of leaving the group but later hugged her and both started sobbing.

The sun was about to set. Darkness started to creep. It was time to go back and join the group. Neither of them realised that it was time to go back home.

I was in awe when I looked at them. The two of them were giggling endlessly. There were no frown on their faces. They were holding each other's hands. Looking at their calm and happy faces I decided not to scold Purvi but instead paired all my kids and made them understand that we should not leave our buddy alone anywhere. Accidents may occur anytime, anywhere and to anyone.

I made them promise each other that they will be very cautious regarding their movements and whereabouts in future.

The honking of the horn of the bus told us that it was time to go back to school. My whole bunch started helping each other in folding the mats and putting things back in their picnic baskets.

I counted my 39 gems while boarding the bus and came back from the Land of the Innisfree to the reality.
