The Four Letter Word

Love is a four letter word. So is Fear. However absurd it may seem, Love and Fear are reciprocally connected. We always feel fear to fall in and out of Love.

Sometimes we just fear if we might hurt the one's we love the most. We fear if we would be an utter disappointment. We fear if we would leave our promises, unkept. We fear if we would make them cry.

Fear, as irrational it may seem, is the most rational emotion in Love.

We never know when and whom we fall in Love with. We, obviously, never know where it would go wrong and when we would fall out of it. But one thing's for sure when you're deeply in Love. The fear of losing them. Not just to someone else, but, forever.

Things are not an icing on the cake, all the time. Rough battles are to be fought. Nasty words are always spoken in a haste. That's when we fear we would lose them. We fear to let them know their mistakes. We fear to face the consequences that follow. We fear to live up to the hard truths.

When love flows freely, the feeling is good. When we give love and it is accepted and when we feel that we are loved and are able to accept it. When we don’t feel love being given and we want it, we feel it as pain. Sometimes, we think of the efforts we put in and fear sets in.

How much long can we hold on?
How much effort are we willing enough to put?
How much are we ready to lose, just to watch them win?

Sometimes they're a reason we cry.
Yet, they're the sole reason we're still alive.
Sometimes they make us feel alone.
Yet, we are complete only by their existence.
Sometimes we feel hurt and rejected.
Yet, they're the painkillers of our Life.

Love is a complex emotion we fail to perceive.
We get hurt, yet we never want to give up.
We feel pain, yet we want it more.
We get disappointed, yet we are unrelenting.
We feel rejected, yet we are persistent.

Once you no longer fear the need for Love, paradoxically, you are more likely to get it. Of course, you can still choose to accept love, and enjoy being loved, without it being a need. Without the tension of that unmet need, and the accompanying painful emotions, it makes it much easier for people to love you. Yet, we can never stop falling in Love, can we?
