I found it in the Electrical Department of IIT Roorkee :)
Small, shy, wanting to be caressed,
I wondered if it was just there waiting to be discovered by me.
Blushing green with a few 'hopes' scattered here and there,
It looked at me with doubts if I would care,
Irrespective of class, family, genre!
Pitying at its subtle existence,
Aroused uncertainties of its capabilities.
'Would it really become something great or just keep still?'
...The money-plant on my window-sill. :)
Unfortunately, both of us were 'blunt at first sight'
With emotions in resonance and dreams in hind-sight.
Winds, rain, sunlight would frequently tip-toe,
Narrating tales of it's kins from far-off lands,
Mixed with the fragrances they brought.
Amidst fears, insecurities, chaos
It did lose a few of its twigs, leaves in the race,
And I...lost a few of my 'race'.
With disappointments around the corner,
The old, wise 'mango-tree' outside whispered,
"Have faith...we're star-dust".
Heart-broken, I grieved over the misdeeds and loss of my 'kind',
A bluish rain cloud drifted to my window,
"You're my brethren...don't cease to be kind!"
Together we grew with hopes to 'undo',
Fortunately, both of us could believe and foresee...
...The world chose to be blind to.
Defeating the staggering chances of survival,
'It' finally donned my window sill,
...It spoke...of love 'universal'
...The money-plant on my window sill. :)
