The One Who’s A Keeper

When you looked into my eyes,

What did you see?

Its dullness, that didn’t make you even surprised

Or its blindness, then what did you seek?

When my body is bold yet cold,

Lucky you if I felt warm to you.

But I am immensely dismayed

If you really did feel ‘loved’

When warmth is a tactile illusion I made.

You still pursue yourself to me.

How passionate your soul is.

Hope I can give you myself wholly,

Without worries and insecurities,

Without doubts and fears.

I once warned you that loving me is a hellish gamble

But you are courageous enough to tame my demons.

For how many times I keep myself away from you

Is the number of tries you did to get close to me.

I adore your love for me,

But be patient still.

For I am difficult to conquer

Like a clam bearing its purest pearl.
