Higher and higher they soared together
With the calm and furious winds their propeller, and wings their sails
They pledged to unleash their long, hidden quests.
As above so below, the canvas painted blue
They resembled Messiahs in robes of white
Hearts young, spirits dauntless
they flew day and night over the rising and falling tides.
The horizon that seemed so pure and true
was the lust of the two.
And the abode of the setting sun was a mystery untold.
Generations came and went; yet none ever dared
'Acceptance'--the key to survival they learned
'Challenges'--feared and never tried.
But the two crazy seagulls were destined
their fates intertwined
A promise to seek the unsought
A promise to redeem that was lost!
With wishes humongous, faith unbroken
They crossed lands, rivers, valleys and seas
Found a force in common--the love unspoken.
Strangers they encountered:free-spirited and wizened souls.
Listened to tales galore:
of ones who fled their ventures mid-way
ones who were marauded and drifted ashore
and ones who were lost, existence waned away.
A few dreamers they met who knew a thing or two,
Brave-hearts who believed in the world chose not to.
Abandoned; their musings didn't fade
Cause ''the ones who think they can change the world are the ones who actually do''
The thought they adhered to.
The seagulls had flown far and wide
With a fear of their dreams to be imbecile
The horizon seemed a mirage ...
Endless vermilion magical sunsets they witnessed together
But none that revealed its voyage.
Their wings were maimed now; hearts growing old
Yet hope propelled them, dreams kept them ablaze
With their undying love by their side
they never lost their strength.
Truth dawned finally
Vanquished their premonitions
That the earth and the blue sky never actually meet;
And the sun's abode in the sea was a myth.
With souls satiated, they returned;
Truth has undoubtedly changed them
but then the magic resided in the journey
in the tales they heard, in the lands they visited,
the love they experienced.
It wasn't long they realized that truth is in fact a shade of grey;
Off they flew to the abode they once knew
to narrate the magic of the horizon and the sunset
to encourage young desires, musings;
to keep the promise they once made.
Cause dare they revealed that which was true
...will ever the young souls venture on their own
to know what is true?
