I've always been afraid of the dark,
To venture into the unkown.
For all it requires is one tiny faulty step,
For one to go crashing down.
But you were such a bright light
And I was just a moth attracted to your illumination
But it's sad to know that you were my beacon of light
Even through the darkest of nights,
But when the daylight came
You slowly turned and walked away.
You saw me through the dark
But you had to leave a mark
And these scars aren't the ones that you can see but feel
Because now the steel walls are up and sealed.
