Info

With winter approaching soon, it becomes really challenging for car owners to maintain their car amidst cold weather that causes problems for tires, engines and other functionalities. Although there are a lot many best automobile manufacturers in India, we have listed a few tips that will keep your car rolling smoothly through the cold season’s challenges.

Warming up the car before moving

Warming up your car is very important because it assures that the engine oil present inside covers every nook and corner of the engine. So when you start to move, the entire engine is thoroughly lubricated which lowers down the level of wear and tear in the engine. During winters, the engine oil tends to become thick which will take more time to flow through the various parts of the engine. Therefore, it’s always best to let to let your car idle and warm-up for 3–5 minutes before moving.

Battery Care

If your car battery’s charge is low or close to depletion, the battery has a good chance of dying off during winter. The distilled water present inside the battery plays a key role in the chemical reaction occurring inside. If this distilled water freezes during the reaction, it can cause permanent, irreplaceable damage to the cells.

Windshield Wipers

Fog, snow and rain usually cuts down the visibility in winter and your ability to keep the windshield clear will be tested. No matter how many best car wiper blades you buy, before the really cold weather hits us hard we recommend getting your heaters checked to make sure that they are in working order. Since this also includes the defrosting mechanism on your windshield, you’ll want to check on this in advance so that you have a clear and safe view of the road.

Antifreeze

Antifreeze, also known as coolant, is essential for your engine in the winter. It works to keep it from freezing. Always make sure that your coolant levels are high and that there aren’t any leaks where your coolant might be draining from.

Defroster and climate control

You have to make sure in advance that both of these systems are properly working in your vehicle. The climate control system works on keeping you warm, and the defroster keeps your windows from getting foggy or icy.
