Fascinating creations, these stars.
Blanket every inch of the earth,
From the faraway serene oceans,
To the up close bustling bazaars.
Never do they tire
Of sitting up there and watching over us.
Sometimes I wonder if they grieve when we cry,
Or frown when we cuss.
It amuses me how they're so far away,
Yet lend patient ears to whatever we have to say.
There are times when the nights are bleak
And clouded with rain,
And you think perhaps you won't ever see the sky again.
Then you look up and find these little soldiers twinkling,
Making you feel as if they're winking.
They inspire you to never lose your shine,
No matter how gloomy the world may seem,
Keep spreading happiness with your smile benign.
One, two, oh! Hundreds of them are out there to greet us tonight,
Won't you look up a while and treat yourselves to this beautiful sight?
