"Go Haleema, Go!"

The voices behind the audience grew louder.

So close to her dream she was. She ,Haleema, swimming champion of her state, envy of her competitors, joy of her parents and delight for her friends. She, Haleema, battling between her thoughts, stood on the diving board on whose completion, could change her life forever.

"Go Haleema,you can do it!"

"Go...!"

"Go......"

Go,and went, not she, but her thoughts on un-reckoned lands. Drifting between hollow spaces, no solid ground to touch, no healing voice to head towards and excruciating pain.

"Your daughter can never swim anymore,Sir", the doctor said to the man in clothes which could not relate to being said as 'Sir' at all.

"The limbs are fractured and she will have problems moving her left leg," threw the doctor the arrows whose healing was not guaranteed.

"Eh,doctor, can't we do anything? Haleema is a born swimmer and saying that she can't swim... It is like taking her life away from her... Please doctor, do something so she can move her limbs, try atleast?" pleaded that man whose prayers of having a daughter were fulfilled in the third-half of his life.

"Sir," the words hit the man as he figured out from the doctor's expression,"there's not much we can do,really. The accident was fatal,it is a miracle that her life is saved.

"Indeed it is",murmured the lost-hope man.

"You must have done some great deeds in this life, Sir, that saved your daughter. Anyways ,we hope your daughter gets well soon and wish her speedy recovery",cheered the doctor but whose attempts were getting futile.

"But doctor, her swimming....?"

"I've already said so,the answer is no,Sir. I don't want to give you false hopes."

At this,she dived.

She swam and swam and swam, and gulped the water that came, and cried and cried and stopped inbetween because they were making her swam difficult. And she swam like a dolphin and sometimes like a butterfly, and gentle tears mixing with chlorine water. She steered and dashed, exciting the crowd that was going gaga over her. She put every energy in herself that she could muster, every atom of her body remembering that night of hopelessness. And in the end, ending the span at a remarkable record-breaking time, she was the winner of that competition.

Not only she won that round, but the round of her thoughts, the conquering of the trauma of broken limb forever, the the conquering of the voices of shattered dreams, she was the ultimate winner.

All this,because of her Baba.
