The Unexpected Message

It was a day different from usual. Every scientist was rejoicing at ASA (American Space Agency). After years of hard work and patience, this was the first message received from ALIENS. The “computer” was still busy deciphering what the message meant. It looked nothing more than a random collection of alpha-numerics.
After almost 2 hours, the MAKER-BREAKER (M-B) as the computer used to decipher codes was called, came up with this:
“HEY HUMANS. EVERY1 WS W8ING FOR THIS MSG. DIS WILL CREATE A HAVOC ON EARTH. WON’T IT?”
Certainly it’s strange. Aliens using text language. Who could have imagined this?
Everyone’s first reaction was to rerun the message in M-B. Maybe it was some technical error. But John, Natalie, Daniel, Martha and Rohan, the team behind M-B was confident that it couldn’t be wrong.
While the humans were bust racking their brains about this sudden appearance of a message from aliens, in the basement where the pets of the scientists stayed when their masters worked, there was yet another turmoil but for a completely different reason. The cats and dogs, from every possible breed and age group, trained not to fight, were indeed having an argument. The main speakers were John’s daschund Brownie, Daniel’s bulldog Bruno, Natalie’s pug Charlie, Martha’s Persian cat Fluff, Rohan’s Siamese cat Pruscia.
The fight was started by Brownie, when he blamed the cats for their irresponsibility, “Fluff and Pruscia. I gave you the easiest task of framing a message. You have created a blunder. At least you could have got it proof read by me, Bruno or Charlie.”
To this Pruscia shouted “Approvals from you?? Not in our wildest dreams.”
Bruno was quiet from long but couldn’t handle it any longer, “Stop being arrogant Prus! The REKAERB-REKAM was a joint effort.”
Casper, A little Chihuahua, new to the crowd, asked Bruno, a young Doberman standing beside him, “What is this REKAERB-REKAM? Why are they all fighting?”
Unable to keep the facts to himself, Bruno blurted out everything, “You must have heard about the M-B: the machine that ASA invented to decipher code messages written in the most bizarre scripts. Well! The REKAERB-REKAM is the exact opposite of the same. It changes a message in any of the thousand languages in the world to the most random codes which can take hours and hours to be deciphered back. The irony is that REKAERB-REKAM is made by the pets of the same core team that made the M-B”
Bruno was so busy retelling the making of M-B that he ignored Casper’s second question. So, Dollar, a German shepherd, addressed Casper and said, “The dogs took the responsibility of discovering a path to send the message to their masters, and the cats had to just write the message. Influenced by their masters, the message they wrote was in text message language. This is worrying the dogs now.”
Getting disgusted by the never ending fight between Brownie, Bruno, Fluff and Pruscia;  Charlie decided to address the gathering crowd,” I know from long it had been kept a secret ever since we started working on this project so as to why are we doing this. But I promise just 24 hours and I will let you all know the actual reason for the same.”
For intelligent as the humans are, Natalie and Martha suggested John, Daniel and Rohan to look for the source of the message. After hours of hard work, the source was finally revealed. It left everyone in in shock. The source of the message was the ASA building itself.
Unable to think of their masters to be in stress because of the foolish mistake of the cats, the dogs decided to send yet another message. Unaware that the humans already knew of the actual source of the message. The deciphered message said:
“SORRY DEAR MASTERS. IT WAS NOT ALIENS BUT YOUR EVRY OWEN PETS WHO DIS THIS ALL. BUT WE HAVE A VALID REASON. WE FELT SAD ABOUT YOUR HELPLESSNESS BECAUSE NO MESSAGE WAS RECEIVED EVER SINCE MAKER-BREAKER WAS BROUGHT ITNO ACTION. WE JUST WANTED YOU TO BE HAPPY.
Yours loving: BROWNIE, BRUNO, CHARLIE, FLUFF AND PRUSCIA”
As soon as the message reached the humans, the core team was stunned. Their eyes were filled with tears. Tears of happiness, of love, of contentment and of proud.
Certainly, animals (especially dogs and cats) are human’s best companions.
