I’ ve been told that a fighter’s most dangerous weapon is not a weapon that kills but a distraction.
Many fear the presence of an enemy. Greater fear when an enemy is unseen. Worst fear comes when came face to face with it. We look at the enemy and see its weapon. Fear got worst.
So, what we all do is dodge weapons, staying away from it as much as we can. Shielding ourselves. In some desperate situations, we want to get the upper hand of a trap - contain an enemy and prepare … We get on our armors and create weapons of our own. We ready our shields. We wear protective gear to make an enemy’s weapons, bullets, or arrows yield zero impact on us.
We stay away from killer blades, quick flying arrows, stray bullets, and we take careful steps not to blow bombs that can suddenly kill us. Like unseen enemies, we get very cautious, staying away, dodging, shielding ourselves from what can kill us.
We fear now the weapons and lose sight where the real enemy is. Distraction.
And this is how I feel towards this Pandemic right now. I wear shield, dodge, and stay away from people who may potentially carry a virus, like a weapon that can kill. I never really felt like it was an enemy.
Distraction.
In my country, and probably the world, considers the Pandemic as "public enemy number one," as also echoed by our country's government.
But I feel different since the time this had all started. We got ourselves protecting and shielding. It has a hundred percent proven tactic to lessen the spread of the virus. To protect also others form acquiring it.
Yes, staying away - physical distancing - was everybody's mechanism. It did somehow curve the impact of the virus. But it does not mean that we are killing or defeating an enemy. It just felt more like we are successfully dodging a weapon away; escaping from any unseen attacks that linger around threatening to hit us anytime
We treat the virus as an unseen enemy now… Or weapons thrown out from faraway just randomly hitting any unfortunate victim.
What we need are health care systems, reliable vaccines- pro-human, and not just another distraction of sort- to treat and alleviate healing and recovery. The problem here would be the cost of buying the cure could be too expensive.
Aren't those the strategies which needed focus to monitor manufacturing?
Instead, another unseen enemy seems to be successful in paralyzing us. Limiting our access to daily needs, necessities, foods, and jobs … regular jobs.
It has brought a threat to our health by tightening security and reinforcing violence for those who will go against newly passed policies and laws. Instead of really paving a way for a free flow of access to health services... to improved and evenly distributed health services. Creating ways and knowledge-based outcomes equating everyone's' capacity to understand and mobilize themselves in quarantine situations.
It has also seemed that an unseen enemy, paralyzed our capacity to think.
It has been taking away our natural flow of life. We bend the natural law how to live normally. Crippling our normal state of living. Altered communication behaviors and "being together" now took its form virtually with creepy privacy issues adopting everything on the internet.
We all got crippled in some areas.
Paralyzing an opponent - reducing its chances to respond to an attack is a sign of a successful distraction taking its effects. In battle, those who got killed die not because of a killer weapon; they loose because they got distracted.
The fighter loses sight of the real enemy, clearing its weapon... flattening their attacks and opportunity.. falling for distraction. When an opponent had already got crippled, its capacity decrease. An enemy can now be ready for its next attack. It saved him time. He's ready for the next blow.
Distraction.
