it was Jacy's 16th birthday, she was all ready to go to school and meet her friends but at that time she didn't know what destiny has decided for her . She went downstairs from her room and saw her whole family the people she love the most were standing right in front of her with her birthday cake, and the presents they bought for her . Her dad and her mom were so happy to see her dressed so beautifully. Her mother made her turn three times just to see if she was looking perfect in the dress she bought her . Her elder brother Sam the most irritating, loving and some times the person she really wants to punch right on face was there just to wish and say goodbye because he got his dream job in New York. Jacy wanted him to stay but she understand the fact that she have to eventually let him go . So, she blow the candles placed at the cake and made a wish. After that there was nothing stopping her to go to school.
Jacy reached school after travelling for 10 min. from her home to school . She was excited to see her classmates, her group or her "gang" as she use to say but most of all she was excited to meet Ranalt her best friend . Ranalt was the only friend of her's who had been there for her every single time . Either it was her dance performance in school or it was the funeral of her pet cat no matter what every the situation was he was there for her . Actually she was excited to meet him because she came to know from Ryan friend of Ranalt that ,Ranalt is having a big surprise for her which she was dying to see . She entered the classroom like always sat on her bench the first period started she waited Ranalt to enter the class but he didn't.
Second period passed , then third period ,then forth and eventually whole day but she didn't met him . She was worried and tensed that where was Ranalt . When she was on the way to his house she saw Ryan. As he saw Jacy he came running . Ryan took a breath and handed her an envelope and said " Ranalt gave this to me 2 weeks ago and told me to hand it to you on your birthday ". Jacy was so worried about Ranalt the she didn't even open the envelope she decided to open it later . Before moving to Ranalt's house she asked Ryan "have you seen him today ? " and after that she saw that his eyes were red .He didn't answered her question , he just walked away .
After that she was scared to death because she haven't talked to Ranalt from lastt two days . she ran towards his house . her heart beat was raised As she reached his house .She took a deep breath rang the door bell .Ranalt's mother opened the door . She was looking very weak and tired . By looking at her Jacy assumed that she haven't been eating lately . Jacy said "Hey Mrs. Allen , can i see Ranalt please ? ". Ranalt's mother was really a jolly person and very friendly with Jacy but that day for an unknown reason she got angry and started crying . She closed the door on Jacy's face , seeing Ranalt's mother in such pity condition tears came into Jacy's eyes .
she ran to the secret spot which Ranalt and Jacy found in 3rd standard when they went to a local trip near park they both saw a small pearl and decided to look for more when they were searching for more peals they found their secret spot . They both sat there and talked and laughed for long hours . There was something in Ranalt that made jacy free to do or tell anything . she thought he must be at the secret spot , but when she reached there she didn't saw him .
She was tensed and roaming here there just to search him . She sat on the ground and started crying . She was not able to find him .She was worried ,tensed and scared . then at last she opened up the envelope given to her by Ranalt .
Inside that envelope was a letter and a bracelet with small pictures of them of all the silly moments they spend together . She took a deep breath and wiped of the tears from her eyes . Inside that letter it was written
" Dear Jacy ,
I know after reading this you probably hate me , but anyway i have to tell you . I just want to tell you that you are the only person that made me strong to fight from time and because of you i was able to survive more . I AM HAVING CANCER. 1 mouth ago doctors said i won't be able to survive more than one week . as you have seen they were just kidding with me those son of a bitch . i know you will be upset and angry but all this time i just wanted to tell you that how much i love you and more than anything in the world i wanted to be with you . I AM SORRY for not telling you this face to face but i hope you will understand . In case you didn't find me on your birthday that would be because i m probably dead not because i forgot. the bracelet is your birthday present wear it and i would know that you loved me as much i loved you . Don't miss me to much and one last thing

After reading that letter jacy was crying hard . there was no one around her this time to stop those tears or to wipe them of . there was no one to hold her hand and tell her everything will be ok . she cried for hours and then finally She wore that bracelet and kissed it .
