Wait Until You're Older

Wait until you're older, is what I was told
Never did I have a hand to hold
A person to guide me as I grew
There were so little things that I actually knew

Wait until you're older, is what I had to understand
These are the words I keep thinking sitting by the sand
Contemplating on what it's supposed to mean
Was I missing something that was supposed to be seen

Wait until you're older, then you will know
At this point I still have no idea where to go
My life is one without direction
No desires, fears, or any devotion

Wait until you're older, I am, and what now
Was I supposed to learn something somehow
I've waited, and waited, and now, nothing
I'm older, and, I'm missing everything
