Once there held a marriage between Tethis the sea goddess and Peleus the mortal king ,
All were invited except Eris the goddess of discord ;
she swore to take revenge and threw a golden apple amongst the wedding guests ,
The apple caught the attention of the goddesses and inflicted a desire to possess among them all ;
'' FOR THE FAIREST '' it was inscribed on the apple and started a turmoil and the matter boiled ,
They went to Zeus ' the king of gods ' for a solution but he sent them to Paris as he was unable to take a decision ;
The goddesses approached Paris the son of Priam and the prince of Troy with different offers ,
Athena ' goddess of wisdom ' with knowledge and glory,
Hera ' queen of gods ' with riches and wealth
Aphrodite ' goddess of love ' offered Helen the most beautiful women in the world ;
Paris offered the apple to Aphrodite and eloped with Helen from Greece,
Helen's husband Menelaus set out to Troy with an army to retreive his spouse ;
Even after 10 years Troy held on but at last fell to the trickery of the greeks ,
The gift of Greeks led to fall of Troy and death of Paris ;
After the fall of Troy Helen was banished and died during her exile ,
The war of Troy beknown as 'The Trojan war' was started for love and ended in destruction ;
Those who fall in love should keep in mind that war and love go hand in hand ,
love is nothing short of a war and the lovers are the fellow warriors who participate in the war called love .
