CBDV, also known as cannabidivarin is one of the more than 113 cannabis cannabinoids which can be located in hemp and cannabis plants. CBDV, as well as several of cannabis' main and minor cannabinoids, was first discovered in the past 50 years and, because of the widespread prohibition of hemp and cannabis and hemp, it was challenging for research scientists to gain access to the compounds to conduct research.
In the past few years, however, there's been an explosion of research and research papers published on CBDV's therapeutic properties. CBDV and some of it is supported by pharmaceutical giants as well as The US government.
CBDV Flower is a pure cannabinoid that falls directly under CBGA "grandfather cannabinoid" CBGA. Learn more about CBGA here.
In 2021, the famous Crawford Brothers of Oregon CBD Seeds released new and better hemp CBDV Flower genetics. In this brand new line of genetics, they added two CBDV strains namely Forbidden V (aka Forbidden Fruit) and Pine Walker.
The smokable varieties also allowed for the development of powerful CBDV oils as well as other Cannabidivarin products.
Forbidden V CBDV
Forbidden V is a hot new strain developed by the Crawford Brothers (Oregon CBD genetics). It is a CBDV strain that is fresh and fruity flavors that will bounce off your tongue.
The buds are a bit smaller than the standard CBD strain, with thick, thin buds.
Forbidden V (also called Forbidden Fruit) was cultivated in a controlled atmosphere in the greenhouse. It's an early bloomer and is expected to be ready for harvest in November, so take your time!
Pine Walker CBDV
Pine Walker is yet another exciting and thrilling strain that is derived from greenhouses located in Southern Oregon. It's a loud gassy, and smelly strain that will leave your nostrils buzzing with excitement.
Pine Walker is rich in CBDV. It offers the fresh taste of lemons and pine needles. Expect a strong body sensation with this strain since its effects tend to be Indica dominant.
Similar to Forbidden V, the buds are smaller than your typical CBD strain. The Crawford Brothers have not released any specific lineage of this strain. Instead, it is the result of splicing cannabis in the search for an extraordinary and long-lasting strain.
Much of the CBDV research is so new that it hasn't been taken to clinical trials, therefore these studies are mostly research that is preclinical, carried out in laboratories and using animals. However, perhaps not surprisingly (to those with an understanding of cannabinoids) the research that has proven the enormous potential of CBDV Flower is already convincing.
CBDV And Nausea
Researchers also believe that just like other cannabinoids CBDV Flower could be found to possess anti-emetic qualities.
A study conducted on rats which has been published back in 2013 showed that CBDV could indeed have the ability to boost feelings of well-being for those suffering from nausea.
Similar to CBD, CBDV is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid (unlike THC, D8 THC, and THC-O) which appears to have an excellent safety profile having only negative effects.
The results of clinical trials indicated that CBDV showed no evidence of safety or toxicity and was tolerated even at the highest dosage tested. There were no major adverse reactions, no significant or serious adverse reactions, and there were no withdrawals.
