When a Dreamer dies, what happens to the dream?

Info

INTRODUCTION

Do you have dreams? Have you tried making them come true? Do the people around, support you?

Maybe, maybe not.

People say -'Dream big!'. But when we do what happens? They say-'You can't do that, that is absurd. Do what we want you to do, and I don't want you to be a designer; I want you to be a business man.'

This writing is all about dreams but not the ones that lived but the ones which died, cause everyone writes about dreams that lived and not the ones that were murdered.

If you are a dreamer, this may make you intrinsically-motivated and if you were one, this may make you become one again; but with a purpose.

Give it a try.

Do dreams have to die?

Maybe, maybe not. You know better.

Dreamer?

When a dreamer dies, what happens to the dream?

When a dreamer dies the dream lies naked on the ground triturating, craving for a new existence. It has a short life after the dreamer dies; a very short one indeed.

It lies there waiting, for someone to come and make it theirs.

But dreams don't always get to live. They die. Some along with the dreamer and some get pulverized. And, eventually they die. Why? Because we aren't supposed to dream, we are mere puppets; pull our strings and we work, cut them; we die.

Everyone takes birth with a dream, but then what happens? It gets crushed, and we don't even try again.

It is always our decision, always because we gave up. It is always us, never them.

They never understood our dreams but we are no saints, we never made them understand. So, there is no use blaming them for something you allowed them to inflict on you.

Don't blame the circumstances, you can always change them. Don't blame the society, you can always ignore them. Don't blame your family; you can always make them understand.

Blame yourself, because you are the murderer of your own dreams. You killed them even before they grew to become something real, something big and something you were proud of. You did it.

Don't deny it.

Dreams are a beautiful thing that destroys you if you make it the sole purpose of your existence. Dreaming is an evangelical feeling but dreams are meant to come true otherwise it is oblivion you face because no one remembers a dreamer, trust me, no one does. They all remember a rebel who made his dreams come true, even when 'they' said- "No, do it our way."

People are hypocrites, they will stop their children from living their dreams but love a rebel who went against everyone and lived his. They will stop their children from being an actress or actor because no family with values let's their children do that, but praise their favorite ones on the television.

People are major hypocrites. It is people's job to demotivate you, to pull you down; but this doesn't mean you will kill your dreams.

The dream always gets murdered. It is a suicide committed by the dreamer. He kills his dream with him. He goes from a dreamer to being just one of the people. They tried to put you down and you let them win.

From the cute kid of ten who wants to be a traveler, you are sending him to learn swimming because 'you' want him to win in the Olympics.

From the mere boy of sixteen sitting in his room scribbling, having the dream of becoming an artist, to being forced to take Science stream because he has to be an engineer.

From the pretty girl dreaming to become a dancer, to being forced to take Commerce stream because she has to be a lawyer; no questions asked.

From the man of the house who wants to be a chef, to being undermined by 'us' for 'men' don't do the so called 'ladies' work.

From the lady of the house who wants to continue the job she left when she got married, to being forced to be a housewife because 'Indian women look good only under the loose end of the saree, working inside the house."

I don't blame the ones forcing them because they don't understand but I hold the one's being forced as the culprits; because they let them do it instead of fighting back, instead of letting them know the value of their dreams.

Many dreamers have died, it may not be a literal death but something died. A dream with a spark did, because you never did let it catch fire for you were too afraid of the preceding rain. But, you forgot that after the rain when the sun shines, there is a rainbow.

We have given the power of crushing our dreams to everyone, and we let them do it; although we hold the greater power, the power of metamorphosing them.

The dream world exists only when you sleep, it is the place where the kindling of the idea is disembarked, you can't make it come true there, it is when you wake up, you have all the power to do it.

Wake up, get your guards up, and don't let them crush your dreams.

Let your dreams inspire others to dreams, inspire others to live.

For being you is the greatest accomplishment, when the world wants you to be someone you are not.

Maybe you'll make a difference.
