"Bitch, I told you to get ready in 30 mins, what the hell are you still doing???"
"I told you I'm busy, I seriously don't understand what is so freaking important that you are dragging me out"
"Shut up and get ready now, we are going for dinner"
"DINNER??? from where did this come now??? I thought we were going for coffee"
"I changed my plan, now will you please stop asking questions"
Avni gave up and got ready.Diya had been behaving like a maniac today. There was something going on in her mind but she kept it as a secret from Avni all the way long. This secret was becoming a burden for her. She and Avni had been best friends from past few months and keeping a secret from her was the most difficult task for her, but she had no other option.After travelling for about 1 hour they reached marine drive.
"I'm your friend not your girlfriend remember??? why have you brought me here???"
"Shut up"
Avni was annoyed now. They kept walking. It looked as if Diya was searching someone, whom?? Avni had no idea whatsoever.
"Haa!!! releif"Diya sighed and walked towards her group of friends.
On the other side Avni stood in a shock not even moving an inch. She went pale and numb. She felt something strong hit her body and her legs became weak. She wanted to run away from there and hide somewhere, this was not something she was expecting. All the memories came rushing back to her when she saw HIM. Few months before she had lost the love of her life and now he was in front her, just few inches away. She could see him in real, she could touch him. But she couldn't do anything because she was she was too shocked to react.
Chapter 2
On the other side Ankush was also feeling the same thing. It seemed even he was unaware of this surprise.
Diya introduced Avni to her friends as Ankush's love. Hearing this Avni blushed.All of them started teasing Ankush and he kept staring at Avni. His stare made a current pass through her body. She din't know what was happening, she din't know what was going on in his mind. She could see the same love in his eyes, the love she always wanted to see but the separation had left many questions in her mind. She dragged Diya in a corner.
"What is all this???"
"You just met your Ankush, whatelse??"
The sentence made her blush.
"But why din't you tell me anything???"
"Duh! It was suppose to be a surprise."
"Oh yaaa"
"How are you feeling??"
"I have hippos and rinos running in my stomach"
"Mission accomplished!"
Ankush appeared and gestured Diya to give him a moment with Avni.
"Hey!!!"Ankush said.
"Hie"Avni replied with a smile."Surprised??"
"Yes... you???"
"What do you think?" he winked with his breath taking half crooked smile.She blushed.
"I'm hungry people,lets go" Diya shouted.
"Shall we?" Ankush asked Avni.
Avni smiled.
In the restaurant Avni and Diya sat together.
"I hope you are happy" Diya asked.
"I don't know what's happening"she replied.
Diya got up to leave.
"Where are you going???"Avni asked.
"This seat is reserved now"Diya replied with a wink.
After a while Ankush came and sat besides Avni.He looked at her and smiled.She smiled back.
"Ankush... umm.... hmmmm... Ahh....."
Ankush caught her hand and squeezed it.
"I know how you feel"he replied.
They sat there staring into each others eyes.
"Avni...."
"Yes....."
"You are looking beautiful"
Avni blushed.
Chapter 3
This was all once again new for Avni. After their breakup she never thought all this could happen again. He was that person who could make her forget everything. His presence makes her forget all her worries and she floats smoothly on the ocean of his love. She wanted to live this moment again and again with every breath of hers, feel his warmth. She was falling in love with him all over again.
She looked into his eyes trying to say something but she couldn't. Her words would never be enough to the feelings within her. She felt a knot in her throat, her eyes moist, those nasty traitor tears ready to fall anytime, but she controlled. He kept holding her hand, as if to say I understand everything and it's the same with me too.
Food arrived and they ate quietly.
Ankush's friend called him.He went close to her ears and whispered
"I'll be back" His breath blowing on her face, Avni felt her heart skip a beat. Dumbstruck, all i could was manage a weak nod.
Avni was again lost in her thoughts.Her phone buzzed and she came back to reality.Her mom was shouting at her for being so late.
"Mom, I'll leave in a few minutes, I'm still with Diya"
"I want you to leave right now, do you understand??"
"Yes mom"
She had to leave.
"Diya I have to leave now, mom's angry"
"Wait for sometime, let Ankush come"
"Diya I can't wait"
"Ok, lets leave"
"I'll go alone Diya, it's ok"
"Are you sure??"
"Someone's too eager to leave" Ankush appeared
"Ankush it's late, she has to go"Diya said.
"Okay, you go join them, I'll drop her"
"I can go home alone...."
"I know you can, but I don't want you to go alone when I'm here"
Avni couldn't say anything after this.
"You mind walking a while??? station is just 5 mins from here"
"Sure"
Chapter 4
They were walking slowly. The beauty of marine drive made a perfect scene. Neither of them spoke for a lot of time. Silence was doing the talking work at it's best.
"You don't have to this" Avni said breaking the silence, she just couldn't handle the amount of emotions she was going through. Ankush looked at her, observing her eyes, he held her hand softly and gave her a note.
"Sshh!!! open this when you reach home and don't say anything, just enjoy this moment"
And they walked holding hands. It was the perfect walk.
They had to cross as the station was on the other side of the road. He took her to the opposite side of the traffic and held her by waist. His touch sent jitters down her spine. She din't know if she was walking, floating or flying. Within moments they reached the station and without a word he went to the counter to buy the tickets. All she could do was stand there and stare at him and wonder how perfect he is.
'Is he really back??' Avni wondered.
'Duh!! You can see him standing there, he held your waist, you both spoke. Obviously he is back' answered her inner voice.
At that moment he looked at her, their eyes met. All she could do was blush and immediately look away.
'Yes he is back, how did I get so lucky'
"Lets go" Ankush said.
After buying the tickets he again held her hand and they walked towards the platform. Avni noticed the train indicator.
"My ticket?" Avni asked Ankush.
"Why do you want it??"
"So that I can go to ladies compartment"
"I'm still alive" he said.
The train arrived. Ankush caught her hand and dragged her in front of him to climb the train. The train was rushy, Avni was standing by the door as there was no place and Ankush was standing right in front her, as her knight in shining armor.They were just inches apart. Avni again lost her senses. She could smell his cologne and feel his warm breath blowing on her forehead. Avni lost in her own thoughts din't recognize that the station has come and again Ankush had to drag her out.
"We reached??" Avni asked.
"Nah!!! People got fed up and pushed us out of the train"
"Why? what did we do??"
"Come back Avni, I'm not going anywhere"
"Oops!!" she blushed.
After getting out of the station they took a rick to Avni's house. Once again they both were lost in their own thoughts, not uttering a single word. Avni was hoping that Ankush will start a conversation. But it seemed he was happy being in silent mode. Avni couldn't take this anymore. She had to talk, she wanted the answers. It was high time she mustered enough courage.
And then taking a deep breath she decided to go ahead.
"Ankush...."
"Yes........."
Chapter 5
"Why did you have to leave Ankush?? It was so easy for you to just say that you don't want me to be in your life. You din't even think once, you din't even care for my feelings. Do you have any idea what I was going through, Do have any idea how hurt I was. And now here you are sitting besides me, doing all the things to make me fall in love with you again and I like a complete idiot has accepted you back into my life without even giving a single thought. It is just so impossible not to love you"
"You have quite a temper, don't you??" Ankush asked.
" WOW!! after all the shit I have said, this is all I get to hear" Avni was fuming now.
"Avni, I know what I did was wrong but believe me it was for own good. All I want to say is......"
"Bhai sahab, aagaya" the driver interrupted.
"All you want to say is???" Avni asked curiously.
"We need to get down Avni" Ankush said.
"Of course we do" Avni said irritably and got down from the rick.
Ankush paid to the driver.
"Avni..." Ankush tried to speak.
" I need to go" Avni said trying to control her anger and tears.
Avni started to walk towards her building.Ankush caught her hand and pulled her towards him.
"Let me go..." Avni said looking away.
"Look at me Avni"
She slowly looked at his eyes.He brushed away a stray strand of hair and held her face in his hands and admired her beauty. He kissed her on her forehead and hugged her tightly.He enveloped his hands around her in such a way that she easily got squeezed in his arms,she could hear his heart beat. He rested his chin on her head. Avni got lost in this beautiful moment. She forgot everything, she forgot what they just spoke, she forgot what he did to her and she forgot the separation. All she knew was that she wanted to be with him forever.They din't realize for how long they were standing there hugging.
"Avni in which floor do you stay?" Ankush asked her still hugging.
"Fourth floor, why??" Avni asked confused.
"I think your brother is standing there in the balcony looking at us"
"Shit" Avni shouted and pushed him away.
"I need to go" Avni said.
"Yes you do"
"Will you call me??"
"What do you think??"
"Is that a yes or no??"she asked restlessly
"How drunk are you Avni?"
"Soooo......Is that a yes or no??"
"It's a YES!! Yes. Yes I'll call you, baby"
She grinned and started walking.
Running running she reached the entrance of her building, she stopped there and looked back. He was still standing there, they smiled and waved each other. She started running again towards the lift. She reached home, her mom opened the door and as usual she was blabbering something but Avni din't pay attention and ran to the balcony of her bedroom. He was still standing there, they again waved each other and he left.
In bed Avni was trying to sleep. The evening events had left her shaken. She wanted to talk to Ankush, but she had to wait till he calls. She din't know what exactly her life is going be after this. But she was sure about the fact that there is going to be some change. She hated changes, but this change was something she always wanted. She wanted to live with this change. She opened the note which Ankush gave her.
'I know whatever happened today is too much to digest, but I promise I'll make everything alright'
'I have got my love back' she said to herself.
She fell asleep with a smile on her face.
"Avni get up, your phone is ringing from when"
She heard her mother shouting at her.
'My phone is ringing, Ankush'
she got up at once and grabbed her phone.
"Hello, Ankush"No answer.
"Hello, hello....No answer.
She looked at her phone screen, but damn it was just the alarm. Disappointed she threw her phone on the bed. She started searching for the note, but she couldn't find. She searched the whole room, under the bed, in the table drawer, in the cupboard every freaking possible place that's when reality striked her. She frowned. She sat down in a shock.
'This isn't happening, NO this isn't happening. This cannot be a dream, This cannot be a FREAKING dream'
She sat there burying her face in her hands. She wanted to cry but there were no tears.
'When memories stopped haunting her, dreams were into action'
