"
hey look at that!! "
that freaking noise teared through my ears when I turned around to see. it was Maria.
Maria and I had been together for years since childhood. the first time I saw her she was beautifully carved in a purple sheet seated in the lap of a beautiful straw basket. she was left lying ahead a glass door with a tag of welcome trapped between her snow white claws. she was a present to the newcomers in the society by them. they always did this to please the strangers and fill their pockets of trust with a hole at the never seen corner which drained all the content with time.
Maria was the most beautiful among us all. her small face with curious grey eyes, and a smiling cavity glittered her flawless beauty. soft ice white strands covered her body. no doubt she was admired by all.. and me.
she was greeted by the COLINS with pleasure. I was happy for her.
I was stray, free of time at every minute of day. but her showing up changed it all. I stared at her beauty from the cork window of the large house all day. the first few days went happily. she was treated like a princess and served with most yum dishes I had ever admired. but then times changed.
the COLINS started scattering their colors with time. starting with the food turning from well cooked to stale and the heavenly cushions turning into hard boards. it all ended up when she was thrown out of the evil house through the back door. they never threw us through the front door. they had their top secrets for doing this which became familiar to us all the moment we were kicked out!
I was the first one to get to her. she looked scared at my first sight. I didn't mean to do that.
"you don't need to fright. I am here to help you." I said
she was quiet at first.
"come with me" I said pointing at my broken home.
she hesitated.
it took me half an hour to gain her trust and 'I would never let that break' I promised to my self. it was the first time I cared about the time. for if the COLINS returned and found her here, they could go harsh. for them we were just furry creatures who were made to roam on the streets.
I felt shame when she got to my house. it had a piece of some metal as a roof and never ending boundaries. it was hard for us to adjust at first. I knew it. we all had been through that situation before realizing the cruel truth of standing creatures.
her face said she wanted to talk. but I knew it was not the right time. the pearl had already slid down the horizon and it was the time to feed the jumping frogs. but on what? I wondered. it was her first night away from the walls and I wanted to get something for her. something that could at least make her smile.
after a hard for battle, I could finally earn 2 pieces of chewed fish. her face told me it wasn't satisfactory. but that was the highest I could do. I watched her filling her sack. and I didn't knew why but it pleasure. she opened her small mouth and grabbed the larger piece with her shining teeth. I allowed her to have my share. I wasn't the first time I would have to sleep with a empty stomach. we were now habitual to this. in our lands you will not be greeted with a smile until you were a girl.
the night was dark. the pearl had finally broken down into fragments which wouldn't join before the heaven turned orange.
I didn't had a pillow. but before I could feel the effort on my arms she was asleep. it was a demand of the situation and we never went against them. the fear of almighty always stood on our left side. the night was cold. and so I covered her with a piece of torn fiber. it wasn't much efficient. but for the least it could cover my never going guest with heat.
to be continued...
