Why Do We Need Adhesives?

There are endless uses of adhesives or adhesives in the modern world. Some of them are obvious, while most of them remain unknown to the common man. Here we will highlight some such applications which, although important, remain invisible to the eyes of the common man:

Lingerie and outdoor clothing - Getting dressed has always been exciting for the fairer sex. Sometimes clothing requirements are so complex that different layers of materials need to be bonded together to provide the customer with the right style and comfort. Adhesives are used in bras and other garments to join different layers together to meet specific needs. Modern clothing and fabrics often remain dependent on the right bonding technologies.

Sports - Going to a stadium to watch your favorite athlete perform is everyone's dream! Has it ever occurred to you how you'll ever recognize your star when they're sitting hundreds of feet from the arena? Usually it's the name tags behind their t-shirt/jersey that will help you with this, and adhesives help these tags be in place. Not only these tags, sports balls, special sports clothes, sports shoes, stadium tickets all have adhesives embedded in them.

Assembly applications -

Household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, etc.

Furniture (wood, plastic or metal)

Housewares

Lamination

Machinery

Doors, windows and house construction

Sandwich panels

Building and Construction – This is one of the biggest uses of adhesives and you could see the wide use of adhesives in the following:

Consumer Application - This segment constitutes the "Do It Yourself" market segment in which consumers do small household chores themselves. These professions consist of:

School supplies and stationery

Decorative films
